So /fit/, what to you think of weighted vests for cardio and calisthenics? Im considering a 20kg-30kg vest to simulate combat gear whilst training, as Im in the military.
Bump.

Can't you just wear your issued body armour and train in that?
>>35133548
It'll destroy your knee and ankle cartilage
>>35133548
During Callisthenics, there are no issues, people do weighted callisthenics all the time. For running however, I can't recommend it. Chances are you'll destroy your joints and back, especially your feet and knees won't be happy.

Im looking to increase speed, strength, and endurance for a 5km run. Any suggestions if the weight vest isnt viable?

Run faster, harder and more often
>>35133548
I'm using a weight vest for calisthenics but I'd never use it for cardio. Don't want to destroy my joints and shit.

Just wear your plate carrier, you stupid boot.

Fuck off cunt, I fix radios.
A soldier got arrested for running with a metal pipe, last thing I want to do is incite the clueless civies into thinking im about to gun them down.

Sprints, babes. Steep hill. 5-8 reps (depending on those neurological feels). 50-80 meters. Twice a week.
