Started going back to the gym last week after two years out. Currently working on my silhouette, so glutes and legs because I like the thick look.
What can I do about my arms? My arms are just fucking ridiculous. I'm frightened weights will make them both fat and muscly. How do I shift it and get normal, feminine arms?

Picture is 4 months old but I look the exact same.

why arm training? why small weights?

I think/thought the reason why women do arm training is that they do not want loose skin on their arms. And I dont think that you have that.

Spot fat reduction is a myth, the only way to loose fat on a special body part is to loose overall fat.

Using small weights is in general a waste of time. If you want strength, you should stay approx. in the 1-5 possible rep range, for hypertrophy (muscle growth) approx. 8-12, for endurance (the most useless muscle quality unless you are a soldier and someone forces you to do 1000s of pushups) stay below 25 reps. everything is cardio, and, in general, really bad cardio.

Ye it wont help you loose fat on your arms but if you do plan on loosing weight you dont want your arms to be all flabby. Building some muscle on your arms will help you make it look more "full" and less flabby. But ye your focus should be on overall fat loss

you should be clear what your goals are.

if you want smaller arms, you need to loose body fat. no other way. you can not influence where the body fat will be lost.

if you want to loose bodyfat, the main thing is to consume less calories.
read the sticky for more info on that.

if I was you (which I am not, so make your own decisions) I would focus on weight loss (and ass workout) and dont do any arm training. if your weight loss leads to you having loose skin on your arms, then I would recommend arm training.

since the loose skin is usually on the back of the arm, women tend to focus on the triceps (the muscle on the back of the arm, it is also naturally bigger then the biceps). an isolation exercise would be skullcrushers (google it). women magazines also recommend training your chest (you have to read up why exactly, because I dont know). exercises for both chest and triceps would be bench press or pushups.

muscles can not be "toned" or whatsoever, they can only be big or small. since you would want to have "bigger"muscles (to fill up the space of the fat), you should choose a weight that you can only lift 8-12 times and then do 3 sets of the exercise.

Honestly do not do any kind of diet, those usualy dont last for long and arent always healthy. Just download the app MyFitnessPal enter you stuff and the goal you want. Start counting calories and stay in a deficit. It shouldnt take you long to loose the amount of fat you want
