That's when I started working out for real. I went to the gym from the start but I never had any goals. I just went. Didn't write down anything, I didn't even have a program to follow.
I'm now keeping track of my calorie and protein consumption. I workout 5 times a week and write down everything.

TDEE when i started was 3600 so I went with 2600 calories the first 3 months.
went down to 2400 this last month since weight loss was stalling. Adjustment worked and I started losing again.

macros are pretty much:
as long as I get enough protein and make the food myself the carbs and fat wont go overboard. Started with 1,2g protein per kg and I've been upping it every month according to weight loss, so It's been around 165g protein a day all the way. (1,4 per kg atm)

Well for food I didn't really have a strict diet. Just watched my macros and made sure to get enough protein per day. Breakfast could be something simple like a bowl of oats or eggs and toast. And because my family mainly cooks Asian food, I be sure to keep the rice relatively low. Because I can count the calories on the rice and not the rest of the food. So this way sort of helps a little bit with tracking the calories.

Routine was just SS. Just focus on the numbers you're lifting and your form. As time goes by you won't even realise you're exercising, it'll just feel like a natural instinct to lift. Though I will say that if you're cutting, don't get too worried about the weight you lift because the progress is only gonna slow down once your central nervous system has adjusted. So just lift heavy as you can and test the waters to see if you can put in anothe 1 or 2 kg to the bar. Also, only do cardio post workout, so about 3 times a week when I'm at the gym. I do HIIT for about 20 minutes or so. I'm really lazy when it comes to cardio, but it really does help overall so try not to skip it if you can.

My final and most important piece of advice?

Read the sticky. Might be tough if your English isn't too good, but if you can manage, read it. All the info you need is there.

I've been doing a circuit program for 6 months with very little results to show. Very assmad.

I'm the guy with the bad circuit routine... On the bright side, with my new program, I should make much faster results, so it's bittersweet.

Wouldn't lifting while eating at a deficit accomplish the same thing as cardio? I much prefer lifting to cardio, especially in the winter. I only enjoy running when I can do it outside, but my asthma dictates that that's not possible on colder days.

For most of my life, I've only drank with food.

So now I actually go through the effort of drinking about 500ml of water with every meal. When I was eating four smaller meals, this meant that I was reaching my 2l goal for the day. Sometimes I'd split meals and end up going overboard to 2.5l~3l a day.

Now that I'm only eating two larger meals a day, I'm having to actually try and drink more water without food. It's not so much a problem because I forget it, just because drinking without eating makes my throat feel weird.

I don't even dislike water in particular. I just hate drinking anything by itself, even soda or whatever.

Bench I dunno, it's historically been pretty atrocious. Probably has something to do with my technique, though I think that's been getting better too.

Alright...
I know it's not much and I know I'm disgusting, but I got fed up with the lifestyle I had so now I'm working on changing it.

Right now I'm just counting calories and eating less than 900 daily. Before I started, I'd eat probably 5000 or more. I'm not working out really cause I want to lose more weight, but I do try to walk a few kilometers a day.

I feel more energetic and I don't tire as much as I used to, especially walking uphill or stairs, which is refreshing cause I loathed it.

Most I've ever weighted was probably around 110 kilos (could have been more). It was a few years ago, and looking at those pictures makes me sick. I literally have no wrists heh.

The before is when I was, I think, around 107 kilos.

The after is taken a week ago, when I was around 95.something.

I am currently 94.1, and want to go as low as maybe 65-70.

Again, I know it's not much, and I have a long way to go, and my self-esteem is zero, but before and after pics really inspire me so I really appreciate everyone that posted here.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I've been doing it for a while now. According to my BMI, I have to eat at least 1200. 900 isn't too far off. There are days I allow myself around 1200 for this purpose.

I am also very short, and my work is very static. I don't spend energy on anything, really.

I was making good progress until Thanksgiving. I kept doing intermittent fasting, but I ate a lot during my 8 hours.

The red line is my goal of one pound per week. I'm thinking I should reset it to my current weight, because I don't think I'll ever catch up to it now.

I think it gives me a better idea of what is actually happening. If I only did it once every 1-2 weeks, the first one could be at the bottom of a spike and the second could be at the top of a spike. I would think I wasn't losing any weight. This way I can clearly see that it is trending down, despite the spikes.

It is much better than how I used to do it. Every couple days, at random times of the day, sometimes with clothes on, sometimes naked. Now it is every day before I eat my first meal and with no clothes. I find it very motivating to have daily data and the chart.

I started in 2011, natty as fuck with zero cardio. First cut I did was a year long of eating chicken, whey and salads. Then I started lifting with a few ifbb pros & tweaked my diet to incorporate more small meals of rice, oats, veggies and a variety of lean protein sources. I try to vary my lifting sessions, but it's pretty much an am/pm split where I do a push or a pull day in the morning and legs or abs @ night.

I'll tell you a little of what I'm doing, would you tell me how good/bad it's?:

I'm doing a variation of SS:

A: Squat 5x5 (50 kg) / Bench Press (25 kg) / 2x Max Dips
B: Deadlift (55 kg) / Bent Over Row (30kg) / Military Press (20kg)

Monday: 20 min elliptical + A + 60 min of soccer
Tuesday: 90 min of soccer
Wednesday: 20 min elliptical + B + 20 min elliptical
Thursday: 60 min cardio + push ups and planks
Friday: 20 min elliptical + B + 20 min elliptical + push ups and planks
Saturday: 60 min cardio + push ups and planks
Sunday: Rest

I'm (cutting obviously) eating something like 1200-1500 calories per day, an average of 1400. 20% fat, 45% carbs, 35% port. How good or bad I'm doing?, I feel like I'm losing weight and losing fat, but I've also noticed I'm losing muscle.

Nice, I was 200lbs at 5'8 when I wanted to join the Marine Corps.

Lost 20lbs before seeing the recruiters a few months later

Lost another 15 in the DEP

Went down to 150-155 by the end of boot camp, very little fat or muscle

Went back up to 160-165 in MCT from eating lots of MREs and running around with 80lbs of gear all day for a month

Got to MOS school in late June, still here and at around 180 from eating right and lifting/running almost every day

Before I was forced into hospital they said I would have died from a heart attack or organ failure, and my white blood cell count was low and a cold or flu would have even fucked me up hard

That doesn't look too bad for someone cutting. You're doing tons of cardio so that's great for weight loss. But becareul how often you do cardio because it might be the reason you're losing more muscle than you should. Granted you're almost certainly going to lose some muscle while on a cut, but too much activity and such a low calorie diet might make muscle loss a little worse.

I would say that you've got more than enough cardio on your off days, and maybe tone it down a little, like just cardio on off days instead f on workout days. But that's just my opinion. If you feel comfortable with it then it's ok. As long as it doesn't affect your progress on the weights.
