>Bench 2 per week
>make almost no chest gains
>have shoulder pain although good form
>start doing heavy weighted dips(inb4 fedora)
>only bench one time per week
>chest explodes

Why is the Bench Press STILL so popular among bodybuilders and people who lift for size?
>>
>shoulders hurt while benching
>good form
>>
Dips are even harder on the shoulder joint. Bench press is fucking childsplay compared to dips, at least if you use a narrow grip
>>
>>35101666
genetics. my chest has been pretty good since i started lifting and all i ever did was flat bench. tried dips later to get stronger triceps, but they only hurt my shoulders.

Why is the Weighted Dip STILL so popular among atheists?
>>
you might have been overdoing it with the weight.
pretty common especially in BP.
>>
You shouldn't get shoulder pain from bench with proper form unless you never ever train your posterior :P
>>
Is the incline bench really necessary? Can I do guillotine bench instead?
>>
Dips are great for your shoulders exactly because they force some mobility on them. Good benching technique /will/ tighten shoulders. It may save your rotators from injury, but that doesn't prevent it from internally rotating and tightening your shoulders. good stuff Op. I superset them with facepulls and now my shoulders never bother me.
>>
>>35101666
>shoulder injury from bench press
Let me guess, you kept your elbows at shoulder level and used an insanely wide grip?
>>
>>35101784
>>35101715
No, elbows tucked in around 75 degree, scapula retracted and depressed
>>
a bit off topic, but can push ups replace bench?? i'm not talking about some serious gain, just muscle strength and tone
>>
>>35101814
push ups are very hard to overload past putting a plate on your back

You can get a decent back tho with high volume pull ups.
Also do dragonflags instead of crazy amounts of reps of ab exercices, that will get you a decent set of abs.
And try to do hand stand push ups.
You will forever have chicken legs tho

So many here fail to see that people have different goals.

>i don't think it will look bad at all.
if you're skinny you'll look like a normal human being, otherwise you'll look like you do now
>>
>>35101814
No, but you should be doing both and dips.
>>
>>35102773
right now i find it painfully impossible to do even three pull ups without supporting with legs (putting them on a chair or something). so if muscles (dorsi mainly) will look the same with the ability to do 20, then let them be. i just find that hard to believe.
>>
>>35102846
if you're fat you'll look the same

if you're skinny you'll put maybe half an inch on your chest
>>
>>35102686
you don't need 'support' to point out non-credible sources. if you said "well my dad told me so", i dont have to ask everyone that knows your dad personally so that i have a 'source' for you to tell you that you're full of bullshit.

>>
>>35102867
oooh, yeah yeah, sorry, my background, forgot to mention that.

started going to gym at the age of 18 (currently 25) because of spin problems, fast growth etc. and were in and out every few months (longest was 6 months with no pause). practically stopped completely at 22. when i started i was ~190 tall, 68 kios, so super skinny. now i am 85, not fat at all, just a bit around the belt. right now i'm exercising bodyweight at home (no cash for gym desu), for six months straight, and i can see muscle growth already (arms and chest especially). and i feel like i have just began.
>>
>>35102945

>>35102974

>>
>>35101666
You're retarded, son. Your chest "explodes" not because of dips but because you finally got time to recover after benching and stopped falling for meme that you may workout one muscle group twice a week. Not unless you're on roids.

I really need advices on making chest gains.

My routine is 4x8 of
Dumbbell press
Incline Dumbbell press
Dips
Chest flyes
Chest press machine
Cable flyes

I lift heavy on every exercices.
The first time I did this routine, I felt it right in my fucking chest and I was happy as fuck? But I did the same shit this week and I did not get the same feeling than the first time.

I took benching out of my routine cause I can't fucking fix my form and I take all the weights with my shoulders...
>>
>>35105155
Forgot to say that chest is my weak point. I can't manage to gain mass on my chest.
While the rest of my body is changing, my chest reamains pretty much the same. It changed from the flat torso I had but still.
>>
>>35105155
3x8-12 dumbell press and 2x12 flyes
>>
>>35101666
because you need to target the clavicular head of the pec major to get an aesthetic chest.

too many people have underdeveloped upper chests and shoulders.

more heavy pressing and incline imo.

you don't get adduction with a wide grip, you silly faggot.

feel the contraction in your pecs with your arms far apart vs closer together.

you get a bigger contraction (recruit more fibers) with your arms closer together.

don't fall for broscience myth.

if you are doing dumbbell, sure, start wide, and squeeze em close.

but for barbell, close is better for chest.

kek

that is like saying i don't like to use the word hypertrophy, because it reminds me of phil heath, which is just way too much for me
>>
why not just do both senpai
also chest activation in bench depends massively on technique; when i bench my chest doesnt actually contact as i retract my shoulders plenty and arch so gud
>>
>>35102406

>>
>>35106307

>>35102132
nothing. you should keep the exercise difficulty on a level that you can do maximum 12 reps. everything above that is endurance training, everything above 25 reps per set is cardio.
I would recommend r/bodyweightfitness if you want to start out fitness without going to a gym. There are harder progression exercises for those exercises you listed.

Doing the program you wanted will yield little optical results (even though 60 pullups per day is quite good). you will just be able to do more pushups, situps, etc.
>>
>>35102305
oh how you will change. once you begin there is no satisfaction. it's like a drug. you will need gainz upon gainz upon gainz UPON GAINZ UPON GAINZ UNTIL YOU'RE COMPETING AND DL 20 PL8s BRO DYEL FAGGOT

a stronger contraction recruits more fibers.
