We have 2, one has a decent setup for being a tiny ass lifting area. Couple of power racks and 3 oly lifting platforms. Benches and cable machines, the standard stuff. My only gripe is the 45lb rubber plates we're forced to deadlift with are way too thick, you can only fit 4 of them on each side of the barbell. So I have to be creative and mix-match the smaller plates to fit as much as possible on the bar. The women who work there watch me like a hawk and come down on my ass, threatening to ban me, when I use the standard 45s sandwiched between the rubber ones. It's fucking retarded.
The other gym is a soccer mom workout place with nothing but machines and yoga mats. Had a few mandatory cycling classes there, but never go on my own accord.

The gym is alright, has an oly platform which is nice to deadlift on.

Former army 11b. South korea camp casey ford hood and few different places in iraq. Nobody went to the gym that i knew of. In korea everybody went to drink and "buy a night off" for drinky girls. Ft hood idk its a haze of sweeping the motorpool and drinking. Iraq usually had our dicks in the dirt and more interested in getting to a pog fob with a haji shop to aquire more miamis and wild tiger

What's it like in the military? I had the opportunity to join before, but I wanted a different job. I'm considering joining up after I finish my master's degree just because I want to be in the air force, and do some sort of intel or cyber job (CS major). Are the people in cyber motivated to learn, and defend the country like I am? I'm just being realistic, i'm not 6'4" like my brother, but I have valuable skills and want to serve.

Marines, 29 Palms. You have East and West Gym. Both are packed generally but weights are separated from treadmills/pools/basketball courts.

Yeah, people here are generally smart as fuck. I regularly have conversations about literature, and current events and shit. My sergeants snapchat name is a reference to Infinite Jest for fucks sakes. People in HUMINT also tend to be funny fucks, and outgoing, so I'd recommend grabbing this job in Intel if you could. Only other worthwhile fields are SIGINT and CI. But go army since you can pick a job with us, you'll just get assigned something in the airforce.
