Lads how do I develop the outer part of my calves or have I just been dealt naff genetics?
>>
When doing calf raises, do some with your feet straight, then goes pointed out slightly, then in slightly. But yeah, genetics play a big role.

can't believe a fitness forum can be this stupid
that muscle is soleus and should be worked when knee is flexed
ie. seated calf raises
>>
>>35076913
lol this is so legit. Guys try one day running 5 kilometers for the first time, you will get your calves so sore that you will wish you were disabled.

Then you can pig out on pizza to avoid losing gainz.

I only did it twice though, hate cardio.
>>
>>35077233
This was funny the first time it was posted, now it's not funny anymore and just makes you look a loser who can't come up with his own line

Doubt it. Height/weight?

If you had to pick one, would it be seated or standing? seems like seated hit's more muscles over all compared to standing
>>
>>35080167
all of these severely neglect, the outsides.

Flex your calf standing in front of a chair and look at it, then keep it flexed and slowly start to sit down. (bending the knee) look what happens. (assuming you have any muscle to compare)

Here's the difference. I can't really tell with your picture.
>>
>>35080371
Kek, sure you are anon.

Why do people on /fit/ think that being ridiculously tall is any better than being ridiculously short? Any taller than about 6'4" makes you look ridiculous to the vast majority of people, the same as any shorter than about 5'8" makes you look way too short.

i don't have any bicep-specific pics :\

upon closer inspection, i do have a small gap between my forearm and my bicep, but i also have a long peak
>>
>>35080341
complete opposite actually, seated ONLY emphasizes your soleus muscle because the gastrocnemius has an attachment above the knee (back of hamstrings tendon). that means when your knee is flexed, your gastroc is already heavily shortened. think of it like doing a bicep curl when your hand is already at your shoulder.

for that reason, seated calf raises are generally retarded as an exercise because standing calf raises are more practical (functional kappa) and effective.

also that is still the lateral head of the gastrocnemius btw not the soleus, which would be underneath the arrow (and is more prominent from the anterior)
>>
>>35082184

and also, work on your lateral head through standing calf raises (point your toes in) and incline running/walks.
>>
>>35082035
> implying you don't want to be a tall basketball bro

it's ok manlet
>>
>>35082908
6', but seriously, no-one looks at someone who's 6'7" and goes "Wow, that's attractive", they just think they're tall, not to mention how fucking hard it is to put on mass and actually look big at that height without roids.

Those /fit/ memes where they say that 6'10" is the perfect height are troll images, you know that right?
>>
>>35082184
>think of it like doing a bicep curl when your hand is already at your shoulder.

You were making sense till this showed you don't know what you're talking about.

> the gastrocnemius has an attachment above the knee (back of hamstrings tendon). that means when your knee is flexed, your gastroc is already heavily shortened.

By that comparion, then when I hold my bicep completely contracted, I should have less range of my motion in my forearm (that is the accurate comparison) Which is not the case. This is why your calf also has FULL range of motion still when your knee is bent.

I agree with you, but 6' isn't tall enough, girls are that tall these days
>>
>>35084110
I've never met a girl that was as tall as I am, even in heels, average height for a chick in Australia is only like 160cm.

Average male height (for white males) is 5'10" here, too, so I'm definitely not a manlet.

And yeah, I get that was bait, but still, you're reaching way too far, you won't get anyone with that.
>>
>>35077469
are you fucking high you piece of shit? that's the lateral head of the calf
