Honestly it wasn't until I graduated university, started working full time and had a long term girlfriend I started lifting seriously.

When I finally had a daily routine, had to think about meal prep etc because I became a lot more time poor things just fell in place.

Now my peers are older, in relationships etc it's a lot easier to go lift after work, because if I don't I just piss the night away on memes and bongs anyway.

What I'm trying to say man, you have to realize you are living the life you want right now. If you wanted to lift, you would. You have to make peace with yourself and decide what you want.

In the future your circumstances will change, maybe you will lift, maybe you will decide fuck it and join a Sepaktakraw team instead.

I'm the same way bruh but now that I'm getting older (27) I've accepted that I can't continue my current lifestyle. My father is diabetic and I simply cannot go down that road. One of my friends went yolo mode after diabetes and the dude got blind in one eye and lost part of his foot.

Health complications feel like a very real threat for me so that put a fire under my ass. If you're like me you won't start lifting until you feel the heat so honestly I don't know what can motivate you other than someone close getting fucked up.

Just remember, the very concept of "oh i'll just live how I want and die younger" is completely retarded. It's never that clean. When you start getting complications that shit gives you a slow, painful death with symptoms that simply get worse over time. Switching to an active lifestyle isn't necessarily about living longer but dying better.

I started lifting in early November and it's easier to keep up the routine every week. The first weight I had to move was my lazy ass and man it's getting easier to move. The most important gainz are willpower gainz, you'll get em bruh

Hey bro, I'm in the same boat. Sleep deprivation and a fucked up knee are really obliterating all my good habits I built up the last few years.

But I'm trying to rebuild all that slowly but steadily:

I've created an habitica.com account with (very) easy habits that I will expand once they actually become a habit.
I also took my knee to a specialist surgeon (specialist in both sport related injuries and knees) and I am going to the sleep clinic.

Last but not least I really, really recommend the book in pic related, if people ask me to read one informative book in their entire live I would answer this. It's not a checklist of do this, tho that, but an insight in how the brain works regarding willpower and long-term goals.

It really sucks that I have to rebuild wat I have lost, but I think that slow and steady progress is the key. We're all gonna make it.
