24-48 hours for a muscle to recover. My 5 day split that a I just start over on the 6th day allows me to hit body parts at least twice within a seven day span. I do this until I feel fatigued or feel burned out, take 2 days off and get back to it. The most rest days I get a month are 4. You need to know how to rest, and listen to your body.
