When did you realize that self-confidence has been memed by the NWO and that self-improvement in the western world boils down a massive pissing contest?

Before our transition into a service economy men didn't spend copious amounts of time thinking about being masculine, they just were out of necessity. Few were bulking, measuring their body fat, primping themselves or trying to be edgy alpha males. Men worked brutal labor jobs, took up arms, fought to survive and looked out for their clan.

>is self-improvement a modern day replacement the masculinity of our ancestors?
>>
Yep. Welcome to liberal democracy, where actually acting like a man is oppressive or triggering.
>>

being a man today is harder than it ever was.

you are alone, the world despises you, the state opposes you.
they ridicule you if you try, they treat you with contempt if you dont succeed.
if you succeed then they try to take everything away of of jelousy and lust.

you have the responsability of keeping up what your ancestors did, reproduce and succeed.

while doing that you have to abide this world's tyrannical mad rules.

i would rather live in the old days and be a malnourished manly farmer and die of pneumonia at 35 with 16 children and their families around me then a vegan hipster today: dying at 65 from a ruptured colon.

nobody has pretended the narcissism and preening of the bodybuilding world is masculine.

why do you think we are all homo?

The only darkside of self improvement is that it's *self* improvement. You are alone in this journey.

I'm Redpilled, MGTOW and an MRA. I can confirm being a man today is shit.

No. However I was that way from the ages of 18-22. I was led astray by the world and now I realize that as a man my self-conquest currently have no purpose. Since accepting this I can now see the same thing in young men everywhere.

I might believe this is true for tops, but all bottoms I've ever known seem very low test and girly.

The issue here is that you equate self-improvement with obviously masculine values and pursuits (e.g., physical activities, sexual capability), while there obviously is more to it, such as developing your moral and intellectual side, both of which do not necessarily side with either masculinity or femininity.

You do hit the nail on the most worrying aspect of self-improvement, ie., that it is a pissing contest. However, I do not feel that this is something unique to the modern era. People have always strived to be better than their peers, and this has lead to them improving themselves. Naturally with a very liberal society in many countries these days the issue has grown exponentially as more and more people have the means and opportunity to begin improving themselves in a variety of ways.

For me the most important thing in anything one chooses to do is self-reflection and self-awareness. Two qualities that often get lost when one gets into a highly competitive mindset.

I've self-improved so much. I'm aesthetic as fuck and generally have my life together. But I'm so bored. I don't enjoy many things. I don't have any hobbies because nothing seems to interest me. I end up spending hours a day on 4chan.

What do you guys do? I'm about to take a nap and I'm not even tired, it's just the most fun thing I can think of right now.

I read, play go and music (piano, bass, some vocals), watch movies and write. Nobody can really tell you what to do when you are bored, but if I would have to suggest something then read and watch movies first, see what you like (genre fiction? drama?), and then study up on that. And this of course doesn't have to be limited to the original pursuit, ie., if you like fantasy novels don't just read more of them and about them, but consider also checking up on medieval history, folkore, smithery, politics, w/e it actually is that you like about them.

some of the primal human (male) activities as I understand it:
>combat, sex, hunting, dancing, singing, speech/abstract thought
If I'm right you might find some more meaning/fulfillment in some of these whether it's MMA (uncontrolled wrestling might be more near to human play-fighting though) or hunting (sports might work as a substitute for tribal hunting - teamwork, chasing a target) - dancing and singing might seem homo, but they're widespread throughout humanity and in my view they look to be hard-wired as one of a handful of fundamental activities. It might seem a weird angle to take on it, it's up to you.

This just in, every stable society had this.
People just tend to take cues from those societies that elevated it away from a way for men to figure out how to be men and fill the role of masculine caregiver and protector to something to lionize idolize worship and sexualize.

Entire chunk of the this board are all beta limpdicks desperately trying to live up to a fantasy of masculinity created by creeps and money men.

As long as masculinity remains defined by porn chiseled out of rock for ancient rich queer warmongers or whatever geared up gay guy is popular in the media there'll never be any confident healthy men in america.

Or, you know, you could grow a pair and stop giving a shit if some ambiguous group of people you call society (whose intentions you infer from highly biased buzzfeed articles online) think about you.

Just own up to the inevitable fact you'll disappoint, anger, and or alienate various other people (including at times yourself), and you'll find modern life is actually decent
