I want to do 10,000 pull ups in a year. Is this possible? I'm planning on doing ~35 a day which will give me a few days off. Is there any reason this would be a bad idea?
switch up your grip orientation every now and then.
That sounds like a good way to get an over-use injury.

35 pull ups throughout the course of an entire day would only give an out of shape ham planet an "over-use" injury

I plan to vary the distance between hands, pull up, chin up, and the one where your hands are sideways. Any others you recommend?

I actually was worried about this, if I do that every single day could it cause problems?

Entirely possible, but every day will be pointless/painful.
Try to do as many as possible every second day morning/afternoon/evening. Don't forget push-ups.

So, three sets, day off, three sets?

Vary the type of sets. Check the armstrong program, lots of people have had success.
Don't forget the diet aspect (lots of carbs for recovery).

Doing 35 pullups every day for a year?
Be my guest, go try it Mr. Mighty Non-Hamplanet

yeah, do as many as you can in a day (or until it hurts). For most people, before work/school, at lunch, afterwork/before dinner is convenient.

I do roughly 35 - 40 a day but my problem is a consistent plan. I do them every day for a few weeks then give up. I feel like this long term plan could be my motivation
