Your knucles
>>
Squats
Close grip Bench press

For hip drive and tricep extensions

Also classic bench press and close push-ups on your knuckles (max daily before bed or something)
>>
technique is important but also being big and having large, heavy hands.
>>
>>34952283
serratus
pectoralis (minor more than major, but both
tricep
anterior deltoid
multifidus
rotatores
a tiny bit of obliques

>Squats
yes, but more importantly box jumps, power cleans, and weighted plyometrics.

but squats are going definitely help increase the main driving force behind the punch.

just think, when you jump just high enough for there to be a cunt-hair between you and the ground, you have channeled as much weight as you weigh upwards.
if you jump higher you channel many, many times that.
if you rotate your hips and throw that power into your punch, you will generate many more pounds of force than if you punch with your arms.

also maybe grab a cable machine and do weighted punches with good form.
>>
>>34952283
Triceps, wrist stabilizing muscles, legs, core. Punch start at your legs, goes through core end ends up in your arm.
>>
>>34952283
all of them
>>
Hit a heavy bag.
>>
>>34952374
that is how you test your power, not develop it (unless you are still developing form)

and you should be practicing regularly regardless.

but that isn't "training" that is "exercising"

don't be a crossfitter.

strength training and plyometrics is the way to go.

you want to be as strong as possible, and you want to express that strength as explosively as possible.
>>
Everything. Punches come from the feet. If you actually want to learn to punch as opposed to assuming you can punch because you're a big guys then you're actually going to have to start boxing or muay thai to learn to punch.

Ok you nigger. Let's break it down from someone who's been doing mauy thai for 14 years. You need to pivot your foot, then knee then your waist, then your shoulder, elbow, fist. I'm sorry if your dumb ass doesn't get that. Think about reaching for y our keys on a table. That's how a proper punch is thrown.

Fuck.
>>
>>34952785
Pleb here.

Is that what you do for every punch, even jabs? Or are jabs considered a different move?

It all depends if it's a jab or a straight left. If it's just a jab then no, you don't need to pivot your lead. If it's a straight left power shot, then yes, you should pivot.
>>
>>34952283
A good posture during a punch can double its meaness instantly. Connecting and moving every joint from feet to fingers together, with good rooting on both feet, not using the shoulders and not tensing up.
>>
chest, back, shoulders, core- especially obliques. Honestly though your technique is the most of it idc what anyone says.

Can punching form be learned from punching a bag or does it need to be taught?
>>
>>34952283
there's a reason bodybuilders don't fight and mma fighters aren't powerlifters. contemplate that for a couple of months maybe you'll finally realize the key flaw in your plan.
>>
>>34952369
....learn to jab mr punches are defined as hooks only.

Your hips.
>>
>>34952283
biceps
>>
Shoulders most importantly, they needed be strong to resist the stress applied on the joints during hard bag work. 3 years since I last worked the bags and I've injured my rotator cuff, just started boxing up again.

The most powerful punches utilise all of the body and momentum. You can't rely on just a singular muscle. Pecks and biceps are worth fuck all for punching.

Watch tysons training videos and observe how he uses his entire body to throw his punches. That's technique and isn't learned from lifting weights.

>What muscles do you need ot work out to deliver a mean punch ?
None, unless you go reeeaally light weight (like, the bar at most) and do fast reps. Read up some sports science, heavy lifts are not only useless for punching power, they're detrimental.

The old Karate guy or the boxing coach who told you that you shouldn't lift weights at all because it's making you stiff and slow? Well, turns out they were right, and everyone except the internet officially knew it since the 50s/60s since that was the time the stuff was actually examined. Seriously, look up the sports science. Do it.

All the sports science indicates that strength training is beneficial to combat athletes...
>>
Get a boxing coach. Get him to teach you how to punch.

In the meantime read the sticky.
