HEY FAMStbh I was thinking of doing ss but adding lateral raises,something for rear shoulders,pullups dips.and maybe hammer curls and tricep extensions.Will this be over training.It's just that just doing SS on its own means your legs will get big and other that that and your core so you'll look DYEL(let alone look like you've made any progress) after 6-7 months.So I figure add some assistance and you'll have balanced proportions

There's no need for accessories if you are a beginner. Do ss for as long as it takes to get stronger and gain a good 7-8 lbs, probably like 3-4 months then consider going to a 4 day push pull legs with compounds still as the main focus each day.


Or you can continue doing high volume training curling a 35lb barbell and make no gains. Up to you senpai.

You want to look like you lift weights, so you want to look strong. You know, strong like someone that lifts weights, but instead of actually getting strong lifting weights you'd choose to not do the exact thing you supposedly want to do.

What the fuck man were not saying to start powerlifting, just get strong with compounds.

You fell for the "aesthetics muscles" meme senpaifam. Read what Rippetoe says about programming in SS and Practical Programming to find out why your idea is bad. Or keep memeing and falling for trolls on this board.

Post a pic or your lifts mate. I'm 5'10 137lbs 9% body fat so I'm no Arnold either. Just a runner out injured atm so decided to make some lean muscle gains to help me get through military training when I join up.

Reason I give you that advice is because following it myself I know it works.

Don't forget to eat, seriously just eat eat more than you think you need if your skelly. Do 20 mins intense cardio after lifting and you'll minimise fat gains as long as your not sedentary the rest of the week.

Creatine and pre workouts I wouldn't reccomend, mutant mass despite the memes I would for days after workouts. Stick to 2 scoops with skimmed milk 2 hours before bed.

If you can get cheap BCAAs from gnc Holland and Barrett's to drink during lifting or after lifting and before cardio I would reccomend it but that's just because as a runner I used to genuinely need to have fuel during my long workouts so am used to the benefits but is still reccomend them. Just buy the basic powder don't worry about meme brands just gnc powder will do. Most BCAAs taste shit btw but that's alright just means your paying for the aminos and not a bunch of flavouring.

I started out doing ICF 5x5 for a while and stalled really hard because of all the volume pretty early. I took a nice deload week then switched over to SS and the gains are rolling in nicely. I might be becoming a slight Trex though, but I still look fairly aesthetic.

SS already has pullups in the program. Rear delt raises aren't useful for you at this point, and dips are redundant.

I did SS for 2 months before i started adding some volume. dips->weighted dips->lateral raises->pullups->farmers walks. Did 5 more months and got great results.
in total 5'11 64kg to 84kg
DL: 90->180 x4
Squat: 70->180 x4
Bench: 50->110 x4
Ohp: 30->65 x4
Dips: 5 unweighted->10x25kg

Recently switched and just finished my first week of PPL, since i was getting a bit too much fridgemode/t-rex going

If you're wanting to pack on the mass do a high volume routine with accessories, not SS. I can't believe people are telling you to wait a while before adding curls, as if it will overtrain you. ICF is 5 sets instead of 3 plus shittons of accessories and rows every day and people dont overtrain on that.
