That's how it was when I got here, and that's how it still is. Whatever mystical /fit/ you have in mind is your initial impression of the board, something that can take a pretty long time to get rid of. Nothing has changed, you've just gotten tired of the same thing every time you come here.

The thing is there really isn't that much to discuss on the board. You have /plg/, /owg/ (or whatever it is), an occasional cardio general, calisthenics, bodyweight training, recipies, and qtddtot. These are basically te only things that need to be alive on a daily basis. The sticky covers most every other topic in terms of how to lose or gain weight, what programs to use if starting out or if have experience, everything you need to know. So since the board can support so many threads, you get a ton of manlet, bf%, high test, etc.
Years ago there were more threads about stuff that the sticky now includes. So those threads don't exist very long anymore. There was also more advice and knowledge coming from a few tripfags back when they were just called trips. But really, with that gone, and you get generations moving in, you're going to get a lot more of the shitposting that you see.

Honestly I think there needs to be a shift in the attitude towards people that are into fitness but just discussing life shit, which is basically what people here try to do. Most of the people here just want to socialize with like-minded people that are into fitness, so they say fuck /soc/, etc, cuz we can't relate to the people that post there.

In my opinion, 'making it' has always been living a life you can be happy with. If you're happy doing roids and fucking club sluts, then by all means, go for it. If you're happy with a simple job and a sweet girl on the couch, go for it. If you're happy being the best of class and landing a well paid job, go for it. i see it like this: we were all peaking in terms of simple excitement over that kid back then. listened to all the music in his videos, imagined ourselves as him while training at the gym, probably even acted a little like him in real life, too. then, naturally, time goes on and flavors change, etc. what's undeniable though, was that back then, we were all outputting a lot of light & spirit. Been here since 2010. I remember posting in the same threads as Zyzz.
In the past year I haven't really been keeping up, I got a job, some girls here and there, and so on, but the old 2010-2012 /fit/ will always have a place in my heart.
We promised ourselves we will make it /fit/. 5 years, or 10, maybe some of us truly wont. But the idea that we are looking for change is what matters.
