Use a tape to make sure it's not muscle you're losing. Tape waist, hips/ass, chest, thighs, and upper arms. That's a huge amount of weight. In theory you should be needing a new wardrobe, or at least a belt.

Plus, if you stop doing cardio, certain veins that bulge under cardiovascular stress will start to become smaller. If you're like me and you like to use vascularity as a way to indicate bodyfat levels, this might be a bad thing.

I'm no expert, but I think it depends entirely on what you want.

If you're lifting for aesthetics, fuck your lifts and cut immediately. Once you get to a decent bf, 15-18% is a good range to shoot for, start bulking and cutting in smaller cycles like the sticky says.

I've found that lifts do not go down while cutting, unless you're fat, like you are.

it will take much longer for you to not look like shit if you don't cut. Recomp takes a lot longer.

I am training for cross country, so I can't say I don't enjoy it. It helps to be light on your feet and in good health, even though i'm on a deficit. After a while, the mythical "runner's high" does indeed become a reality, it feels really good to run after a certain point in your training. Don't be a bitch anon.

Change up your environment. If you're running on a treadmill for any reason but convenience, you're only fucking yourself over. If you like to do cardio after your lifts, go outside your gym and find a nice loop that begins and ends at the gym(record the distance with your phone).

I don't have extreme aesthetics as my goal so I do just that.
But with 225 and 5'9 you can run a -300~500 deficit without much trouble with your lifts

It's been a long time, but I'm almost out of it. I'm still hovering around 20% body fat, but that's a blessing compared to the 70% I started with.

>222 pounds ~20% - lifting 3 days a week/running 3 days a week

I told myself I'd cut until July 10th, so these last few weeks I've been keeping to my diet as perfectly as possible.

I also started using Yohimbine and I'm losing as much fat as I did in the beginning - 3-4 pounds a week easy.

I guess when you're 3 times the size of a normal human being you've stored up 3 times the amount of emergency fat.

It's been a struggle and a triumph. I can't wait to lift on a surplus for the first time in my life. We're all gonna make it, brothers.

You probably will, it's so easy to underestimate how much body-fat you're starting with.

Though, you'll probably be around 15% body fat at 150 so the choice is yours to build up or continue cutting down from there. Good luck!

well, i'd suggest to run either earlier or later in the day to beat the heat.

I never go below 7.5 mph on a treadmill, otherwise i'm bored af. maybe for cycling, there are like virtual spin classes, where you can listen to shit that changes up the intensity of your cardio. I've never done it, but i imagine it exists.

Not exactly - it depends on how super morbidly obese you are. The more body fat you have the longer you can last on a very low calorie diet without feeling like shit from it.

Some Scottish bloke completely fasted from 200 kilos to 100 kilos over the course of a year - came out of it perfectly healthy. Though he had medical supervision monitoring his vitamin levels and vitals.

Protein Sparring Modified Fasts are the way to go if you're looking for a vlcd.

Get a hold of a copy of Lyle McDonald's Rapid Fat Loss Handbook if you're down. It's grueling but extremely effective.

Going on ketosis for the majority of the time even though I'm not on keto (sometimes have 30g carbs, sometimes 50-60).

The improvements on my arm definition, face and mid section is just amazing after 2 weeks, definitely gonna be happy shopping for clothes end of july.

I found that If I eat >100 grams of protein daily my appetite is usually lower between meals. It also depends on what you're eating. 1600 calories of mcburger&fries is different than 1600 calories of veges, chicken, lean meat and bread.

My diet is composed entirely of as much Edamame as I want at any time (never too much because I don't like edamame very much) as much water as I want, and occasional high nutrition fruit snacks. I have no specific goals but how ever much body fat I can cut by the end of summer with the above diet and plenty of cardio will be enough for me. I'm finishing up the last two weeks of my cut -
5'9, 154->129 atm. I want to get down to 125 which is what I think 10-12% bf will look like. I've been cutting since March and used EC for about a month. I cycled off since the beginning of April and just restarted a cycle a few days ago. I'm doing a 16/8 IF split at a 500kcal deficit (800 when I use the stack). I plan on staying on it for 2 weeks which should get me down to my goal. I've been getting at least 120 g or more of protein a day and go to the gym daily to try and prevent too much muscle loss. I don't look too skelly but I can't wait to start the bulk. For a good portion of my cut I was going to the gym every day but I realized I wasn't getting much done because I was too fatigued after a while so now I probably lift 5 out of 7 days and only do legs once a week. I play about 2-3 hrs of pick up soccer 3 days a week typically on rest days + one lifting day. Happy with my progress - I feel much quicker and better on the field and look pretty good aesthetically.

My diet is relatively clean -if I eat junk food it's probably once every 2-3 weeks and I try to work it into my weekly caloric deficit. The hardest thing is alcohol though which is tough to cut out for a college student but I managed.

The negatives: I definitely lack a lot of upper body strength, both genetically and bc I haven't been eating. I just want to start eating so I can start filling out my upper frame.

You can go a week without change in weight, but its very unlikely if you JUST started. When you start you lose weight very fast because of the water weight.

What I meant is that for the past three days I've been counting and I'm just surprised at how much calories I used to eat anyway and how close it is to my target. Should probably work harder on counting right.

Seems boring af, but whatever works. As long as you're losing weight.

It's really not that much work to count calories. I'm fine with getting a rough estimate from MyFitnessPal, I don't go through and manually enter everything, just search on the app and go with the closest result. Takes about 2 minutes after any meal.

mon-thur 1.2k calories, meet almost all macros.
fri (party night) 2.5k, supplement with an extra meal replacement shake comprised of vegetable and whey protein to exceed macro needs.

I'm losing weight pretty steadily about 1lb-2max a week, but i'm sitting around 14% body fat and getting to the point where i'm physically tired from the cut.
