I've never understood the logic behind covering scars with tattoos to hide them. to start with, when scars get old enough they should pretty much blend with your skin tone although they will be raised. that's how mine are. if a person was looking at your arm in passing they probably wouldn't notice.

First thing is have you tried mederma? It's a scar serum/ ointment that works very well on lightening and softening scars.
If you tried that and it's not doing what you need it to, a tattoo is a great way to cover scars.
First thing to consider when getting a tattoo is the subject matter. Do you want it cause it's a beautiful art peice or is it a momento or a tribute? There's absolutely nothing wrong with getting a tattoo cause it looks cool and you like the art just remember your tast may change and you'll hate how much of a faggot you'll look like with some dumb ass hipster tattoo. Make sure it's a style that you actually like and something you don't mind looking at all the time basically until your either blind from lurking in the bright light of your computer monitor in your parents basement or die from binge drinking Mnt. Dew
I have tons of tattoos. Some are memories of a good time some are totems and tributes to loved ones who have passed. I have STARWARS tattoos and even anime tattoos. They are permanent and love that just don't be a faggot and get something you actually like not some trendy bullshit.

I agree. When I was choosing these, therewas really only a month process between deciding to get a tattoo, finding a tattoo, and actually getting it. I was 16 and went to the closest shop that would tattoo someone underage, so obviously got shitty quality. Then I got the 'M' (which is a scorpio symbol) about a month later. The scorpio symbol has a lot of meaning to me but I think the placement could have been a lot different.
