>>
>>10739457

Alot of people seem to overthink rick clothing. They see it as a 'costume' that you wear for a special occasion/place. In reality most people just wear rick as everyday wear.
>>
Piggybacking off a question from a previous thread, Rick clothing that would fit well with 988s? I have the boots but I'm interested in getting more Rick pieces and wondering what you guys would suggest.
>>
>>10739711
double layers, tanks. knits
>>
>>10739509
Exactly. I saw a guy at the mall two days ago wearing his all white geos and a pretty much all Rick fit and it's not like he looked like he was wearing a costume to a Halloween party.
>>
>>10739714
Along the lines of pants, what would you say? I've been a fan of the Memphis jeans for a while but I don't feel as if they mesh too well together.
>>
>>10739725
Rick denim arent slim cut enough to work with guidis in my opinion.

Prisoner pants can look good.

And rick doesnt have any baggy wool ones that suit 988s either
>>
>>10739407
Goals...
>>
>>10739357
Is that where you're "supposed" to wear prisoners?
Assuming those are prisoners, anyway
>>
>>10739762
Wear them just under your navel, and adjust how you want them to look.
>>
>>10739735
>>10739735
>baggy wool
He does

Why the fuck do they have to be wool either? Because wool pants are spammed on this board?

The material doesn't matter it's all about the weight of the fabric: cotton, linen, wool, cashmere, etc can all work. Rick has plenty of pants that will work with Guidis, don't think in such a closed box.
>>
>>10739789
Im thinking along the zeitgeist wool pant vibe.

Astaires are to formal imo
>>
>>10739789
Like what, I'm actually curious to hear what you think would look good. I can only think of a few myself.
>>
>>10739801
Why are you thinking that way though? Not every pair of pants that is worn on SZ and has the SZ look is wool...Why are you so fascinated with wool? I see you posting this shit in multiple threads and it's just annoying. Wool doesn't make a pant fit a certain way unless it's treated, it fits very similar to all other materials. I can tell you my Helmut wool pants fit just like my ervell formal pants, which fit much like any other pair of suit pants. Stop spreading misinformation please.

I mean if you can explain why the "zeitgeist wool pant vibe" is such an exclusive thing than please let me know. But from what I've seen you can get that look with a wide variety of fabric types, pant fits, and shoes.
>>
>>10739841
why are you getting frumpled
>>
>>10739827
Berlin sweats, cargo pants, swingers/other straight legged pants, remember seeing some citroen cargoes around which i think wpuld look great. I also think most Rick jeans could look really good with tall boots like guidis, would probsbly want a looser cut though.

That's just for Rick pants though
>>
>>10739854
Becuase you are saying shit thay isn't true. "X shoe can only be worn with Y and Z pants because website A and B have previously said so". It's the same kind of thinking that makes people create infogrpahics, -core threads, and other inspo threads, all of them just further instill this idea of pigeonholing looks and designers to a certain place which they can never ever get it from. Things like the "fa, SZ, and sufu" look should really never be looked at outside of a satirical point of view, much less so aspired to recreate in some boring derivative way.
>>
>>10739725
Yeah I don't think the memphis would work very well.

>>10739858 Agree with this guy a little desu, I think the citreon pants would work pretty good - saw a few pairs rolling around on grailed recently. Maybe anthem cargos aswell but maybe not the newer waxed iterations, would have to see irl to make my mind up.

Try looking into cropped drawstring pants, the cashmere ones are pretty goat

Guy I have a question regarding pod shorts. Do all the shorts from every season have the back pocket flap?

Hey guys! Do you think a white parka would work with geobaskets ( normal colourway )?
>>
>>10740978
Wouldn't worry about black and white shoes clashing with a white parka! But make sure what's in between the two is up to par and that you keep an eyeing proportions.
>>
Didn't realize there were multiple threads:

Can anyone speak to how well blistered lamb holds up? I'm looking at buying a jacket from slightly older seasons, but worried about rain/generally being hard on all of my stuff. I've heard new blistered lamb is quite thin, I think the one I'm eyeing is a 2012.
>>
>>10741162

No, some (typically wool and/or cashmere variants) are lined and don't have the pockets.

This is my next cop from this season. Waiting for a sub $400 price though. I can feel it.
>>
>>10741162
I have a blistered lamb leather, from 2011(?), supposedly one of the best seasons for that type of leather. The texture is really really nice. It's more of a spring/summer jacket. It's not paper thin or anything. It's still leather, it's not fragile or anything, it's just not thick or very warm. You can still layer it great.

Had pod short back pockets ever had velcro closing?
>>
>>10741314
I think all of them do. Most of what I've seen have flaps over the top, but I have a pair that's just a pouch sealed off by Velcro, no flap. Mine are SS14 DRKSHDW felpa.
>>
>>10741314

they all are, I believe. Mainline usually has the velcro sewn on the inside layer of the flap while DRKSHDW is sewn through.
>>
>>10741181
Not from BST! I'll double check that it isn't listed there as well though.

okay I do not know a lot about rick so I'll be asking some stupid questions

I really really enjoy the look of Rick clothes and am slowly acquiring the funds to buy a piece or two now and then

but I don't know where to start, do I buy something more similar to 'regular' clothing and mix it with regular clothing until I have more pieces or do I buy the more unique ones and keep em locked away until I've got a full Rick outfit?

Maybe I won't get flamed here...

I bought Geobaskets on Black Friday because I loved them for two years and the sale/new job finally allowed me to buy them.
Now I am kind of stuck with finding good outfits to go with them. I get everything Rick works, but I don't really have another 3-4k to spend on one outfit :(

I understand that in general some Y3, Raf and UC pieces go with them, but it's hard to find something from the current season.

I personally don't go full Rick and have never bought any shoes simply because I've worried about fitting them into my wardrobe (even though I do appreciate them as stand alone items).
I guess when they're new they stand out a bit too much for jeans and tees? Maybe try lacing them tight and high so they don't have such an hour-glass silhouette.
>>
>>10742058

I had a friend who had been finding a bunch of really great second hand designer pieces while I had been collecting a bunch of designer pieces I didn't wear and was planning on selling. We both wanted to open a clothing store so we decided this would be an interesting way to test the waters. Some friends of ours were throwing pop up parties and invited us so we scrambled and put together a website and found a photographer who we work with for our product shots for consistency. It originally started as a portfolio project for me (I'm a web developer) but building an e-commerce site from scratch was too big of a project to handle. Anyway, we had a bunch of friends who wanted to do closet cleaning so we put their stuff on the racks and blew through most of our inventory in two weeks. That's when we decided that maybe it was possible to do this thing. That was a year ago. We've been trimming and focusing our inventory ever since.

I honestly don't recommend getting into retail. The margins are too thin. The real money is producing your own garments. That's what we are working towards, for now we have bags but we have our sights set on making a great line of basics and building from there.

We should see who can make the better fit, heh

Yikes, you likely got flamed for a reason and the reason seems to be pretty evident.

You scream "first year on the Internet fashion forums" fuccboi. Instead of buying more pieces that you can't wear, first educate yourself about designers, fashion history, garment designer etc.. Then come back and try again

Thats definitely an option but then he runs the risk of buying even more pieces that he doesn't know how to style. Where as of he paced himself, read up, and then came back more than likely the purchases made wpuld be much smarter.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but to me this seems like the optimal way to "into fashion"

Yeah, I'm sorry I'm like that. Everyone has to start somewhere I guess?

People don't seem very helpful with new comers because I bought a almost meme-status item just because I liked it. I get it though, I have been very into Supreme for like 2 years and it was the same thing with box logo tee/pullovers.

I read about avant garde, "goth ninja" and that kind of stuff and when I see fits I obviously have a personal opinion on if it works or not, but I have a hard time finding pieces to begin with. The issue in my current wardrobe is that it lacks the black and white elements that seem to be the main focus in Rick fits. Currently all tee's I have a graphic streetwear stuff - things that I want to leave behind.

All my denim is black and pretty similar (Nudie, Dr. Denim, H&M) so that works as far as I can tell. Even though I get the proportional aspects of the exaggerated Rick pants, I don't really like them - mainly because I have pretty skinny legs and they would just look weird.

So yeah, what's to begin with when you imagine an almost empty wardrobe?

>>
>>10742575
Yeah see this is my problem, you're not trying to create something for yourself it just seems like you're trying to copy what has already been done so you can look in in the new. You seem almost completely uninterested in the actual fashion aspect of the fashion industry(which is fine) but also the sartorial side where you would cultivate your own look, instead you're trying to do this weird attempt to be something you're not. I guess there could be a "fake it till you make it" argument here but if you aren't interested in putting in the work required for that it won't happen.

Someone will most likely that many of peiple buy into the Rick look, and while this is true that many people live within Ricks aesthetic each has their own take on it. You seem to be less interested in accommodation of the look and more interested in true assimilation. The biggest problem I always see with people trying to get into rick is they think that it's this completely out there look that has to be all 100 or 0, when you can very easily mix and match. I'm sure you could wear your geos with your current wardrobe and make them look fine. Think for yourself, and don't rely so heavily on online sites to filter what you take in.

Your skinny legs aren't a problem, the graphic tees and your current wardrobe probably aren't that big of a problem. What you really need to address and look into the eyes is: what you want to be, what you want your clothes to do for you, are you trying to convey anything or are you just trying o cover your body?

Answer those and you'll be able to figure this out for yourself much better than anyone here could

I actually agree with you, I don't want to copy someones fit either really. After I bought the Geos I just got told that I am an idiot (here, leddit, facebook groups) for not already having a Rick wardrobe "as they only go with Rick stuff". Obviously exaggerated, but they surely don't with everything I feel. Like, this was the fit I first wore them with in uni, it's pretty simple and all, but technically those are some very different aesthetics.

>>10742691
The box logo hoody sucks shit, but that's just me. You do look like a perfect example of the rich hypebeast though.Otherwise I think you did a fairly good job of styling them in a very simple way that doesn't look awkward but still makes sure the geos aren't forgotten.

Seriously fuck anyone who tells you that Rick has to be worn with Rick. Are there some pieces that look good paired with other Rick? Yes. Does Rick look good worn together? Of course. But thay does not mean at all that other pieces cannot be incorporated. I would seriously consider dropping reddit and the facebook groups, and it's not just because "leddit XD" from my experience their collective knowledge of what they are talking about when it actually comes to fashion is below even this deprived pit.

All thay being said imo if you keep trying to wear Rick and Supreme togehter(atleast the very obviously branded Supreme) you will always be labeled as a hypebeast. It can look good sometimes but for the most part I would say if you want to keep the street wear look and wear Rick try and step as far away from big branded items as you can. It's never a good combo with anything.
>>
>>10742733
/r/mfa is garbage
/r/malefashion is sometimes OK
/r/streetwear I just go here to laugh
>>
>>10742708
If you want to start building a Rick wardrobe I would suggest starting more simple than a double layer, because if you wore a double layer with anything like >>10742691 thay would just look fucking goofy.
>>
>>10742733
Yeah, that's what I feel, the big branded stuff doesn't work. I have been through a total hypebeast stage, only wearing Preme, HBA, Jordan 1's and I feel like it's to move on anyway.

>>10742739
malefashion is pretty dead tho

>>10742741
Really? In that specific fit I would obviously swap the hoodie with the tee, so I assume the problem lies within the jacket/denim?

I've never used this. I've seen plenty of ads for shoe protector coating. I'll give it a shot one of these days.
The suede on my white tech runners has held up well but I don't do anything crazy that would damage my shoes. I basically walk to and from my office job every day maybe in light rain. I wouldn't wear suede in rain if at all possible to avoid.

If anybody else has experience with suede/shoe coating sprays let me know.

Double layers have an extremely dramatic look and they are actually one of the few pieces I would say look much much better with Rick. If you wore one with that fit the proportions would be wack but it would just look completely out of place.
>>
>>10742769

I'm >>10742420,

Personally I really don't want to wear them in the rain (infact in the box it says "materials used require special care and are not suitable for damp enviroment"

I've used suede protector on stuff like side zip boots before and had no down sides to using it, and it does seem to be reasonably effective. After all it is just a silicone spray

Only issue is that it can sometimes effect colouring (especially on light suedes like tan) but that shouldnt be a problem on the black adisocks

I have an old Stag long sleeve double layer that I wear regularly in fits with no other Rick pieces.

idk my non-rick /fa/ mates wear loads of cav empt and it isn't nearly as experimental with cut as rick but its nothing like a big cartel with awful fabrics and shitty prints

the clothes fit differently from most, and the fabrics aren't initiative but they wash well and don't look bad at all

in regards to that parka I think its one of the cav empt pieces that would work well with some rick mixed in; its quite 'early raf', the graphics are very low key, and its fit/detailing isn't anything close to a generic parka

I had one when I was less desensitized to expensive clothing - it was $50 at the time and I thought that was a lot for a t shirt. I liked it then, but looking at pics of those fits now I really hate it. I had a J shaped one and it just kinda bulged out all over the place. I've recently shredded the hemline to try and emulate Julius but I don't think I did it well.
>>
>>10744473
Both will work totally fine in everyday fits. To use the usual comparison - it's like choosing between classic converse and white converse. The silhouette is the same for both, and that's what makes it extreme - black vs. white doesn't change much.

Also, that's such a good price for milk ramones. If I was a 12 they'd be gone by now.
