Not really. Setting locale to japanese if your system is not latin based, meaning most of the stuff won't work in same way as jap games won't. Also from my experience problem is generally with japanese games. Some will pass with applocale, some won't.

I just left feedback on the blog about this. It seems like a rather simple change to just modify the eyes/intelligence line to mention her being mindbroken instead of very stupid. I think the game even did that at one point, back in the pre v0.5 builds.

I've been experimenting with the New Game Plus option, and it seems really damn powerful. The winning-equal-losing thing is really interesting, it would be cool to play a game like that, but keep in mind that many before you have succumbed to lesser complexity.

General advice:
Group things based on function rather than flavor. Stand Up should be with disarm and strip because the three improve your combat state. Resist should be grouped with Fight and Beat, there should be agressive things to do even if you're losing, submit and do nothing are redundant actions even if all you want to do is roleplay, etc etc.

It all depends on how grindy combat is. If its 'always same course of actions with same text' making it just a stepping stone to action, people won't pay attention after 30 minutes. A trichotomy of combat positions would only work well depending on the level of intricacy. For example, if it's a game with high character building and lots of modifiers (from perks, traits, equipment, etc), using this trichotomy will result in rather extreme levels of complexity. This is because players will have to take into account the effect of all their traits and gear on each of the three states.

AppLocale is not an emulator, and the NT kernel has been an enormous improvement in stability over the previous Windows kernels. There's a reason it was used as the base for the following Windows releases and I bet you can still find people running the original NT kernel in this thread.

Also, why are you comparing the stability of Windows NT to past kernels? You can't say that a game has good graphics because it looks better than Wolfenstein 3D; it must be compared to its contemporaries. Both Linux and XNU are far more stable than Windows NT. In fact, I would be surprised if you can find a single modern kernel less table than Windows NT.

Even if you survive long enough to use the Break spell (which I have a few times, thanks to maxed out spellmirrors), they immediately put it back up for piddling amounts (10-50 out of >10000) of mana, while you're down 250 mana of however much you have.

I feel like I'm missing something because I have enough faith in game devs that I doubt you're supposed to grind your stats high enough to outlast them. Even if I didn't, I wouldn't know how to, as leveling up does nothing, raising Magery does nothing, and buying the statbooks requires ~20 minutes realtime to slog down to Tel Adre, grind demons for wool/skin, sell it, and get back. All for +10 points of Wisdom/Intelligence.

I've tried searching TFgamessite for it, but all I get are links to a Russian site in Cyrillic.

Pay attention to the weekly update paragraphs next time. MAX muscles are bad for bodyguards - they make the bodyguard APPEAR more threatening, but actually reduce her combat effectiveness.

That's actually something that's always bugged me. When ever that event shows up I never hesitate to take it, even though my bodyguard is always my slavefu, just because I never see it as a risk. Just free money/reputation and a chance for her to shine.

Found your problem. 4 is just barely into the "good health" range.

Spa/attendant leaves health in the 5-7 range, but the slave actually has to be low enough on health to begin with (under 4?) in order to be put into a spa now.

Rest/curatives stop working in the 9-10 range. Buying the pharmaceutical fabricator and the curatives formula makes curatives more effective, but they're more a short-term solution due to the potential drug toxicity which occasionally reduces health and takes a while to dissipate.

Rest + curatives is probably the best short-term health fix in FC, but what's more important for a bodyguard is that you can micromanage her workouts, which occasionally result in health increases. Basically, you can yo-yo the BG between "building muscles" and "slimming down", and each of those counts as "working out and could gain +1 health this week."

The best part is that this health increase is NOT capped, which means the BG can go well over the "max" health value of 10. The only limit is how often you remember to switch her workout routine up/down.

Nightgames is about you and (initially) 4 female college students, let loose on campus every night to fight/seduce each other and score points for every pair of someone else's underwear you secure (by winning a fight). The base game introduces supernatural elements as participants level up, while the mod has futa content (among other things).

I have not checked the development status of either in a few, so don't hold me to it, but I recall someone mentioning the development is happening in parallel - as in, the Nightgames dev liked some of the mod's stuff to included it in the newer versions.

I've never looked at the code, but it should be common sense that the higher the health, the more grievous the wounds that the BG can sustain without dying. I mean, I've had a near-full-health BG drop down into red negatives from a bad fight. Admittedly, this was a number of versions ago, but I always keep my BGs as healthy as I can - which would mean she lost something like 15 points of health.

You go to the doctor with the good teeth and ask him who his dentist is, the whole point is that you just can't assume they do each other's teeth, that would be stupid. They're both fucking dentists, they can afford to go out of town for good dentistry if need be.

You want a slave with the following setup:

- combat trained, duh
- at least above average height
- very healthy
- tits and ass not too huge
- moderate muscles
- average weight (thin/plush are bad)

With a perfect setup, your slave is guaranteed to win all bodyguard arena fights without a scratch. Between slaves you own it's a bit messier since you need a bigger gap to get a win with no injuries.

And here's a quirk in the code. With lethal pit fights, turns out that the best result for rep (+1000) requires the worst setup of slaves. Despite the text saying otherwise, the city adores cunt punts. The worst result for both money and rep happens with a musclehead narrowly wins, despite the game saying that the audience is impressed and betting was good.

I think best practices for a corruption game are to provide the Player-Character (PC) with justifications for corruption, and then the player role-plays why the PC would choose one option over another.

e.g. Game says "You can ignore corruption but you must give up your gold/currency!"

I think most everything else you either go, "Yeah give me corruption," or "Nah, no thanks" without consequence.

In vanilla, fights are first to orgasm, in the mod you need to wear down the opponents' willpower with multiple orgasms. Fights are much longer in the mod.

The mod has a body shop allowing the player and NPCs to equip different genitals with combat effects. It also allows the girls to gain cocks. The vanilla game only has one futa character, the other girls use strapons.

The mod also has some skills based on body part fetish/worship. It also has some extra level up perks. Some of these, along with the special body parts, can really break the game.

The mod has a plant girl and a slime girl who do not appear in vanilla.

The AI for the NPCs is completely different. The mod uses an optimization algorithm to calculate the best move (it's kinda broken). The vanilla game uses a mood based system that chooses skills based on the AI's perception of how the fight is going.

Most of the more recent stuff from the vanilla version, like the ninja skills and a bunch of scenes, haven't made it into the mod yet.

1. To be very tight-knit in terms what comes after what and could easily intercharge if slave customized just slightly otherwise

While it may be achievable for one scene (in exchange for overall style), it would just end in disaster when you have at least 5 or more scenes. Its actually vary easy to setup variance of a scene by using if statements in Twine. Now obviously you don't include everything but It wouldn't be hard to include breast and butt size, eye and hair colour, Genitalia description. Throw in using synonyms for stuff like breasts and butts and it is very easy to get variance in scenes that make them just a little different every time you read them.

For example I am making a game in twine currently and in my character description this is the line that covers what it prints for hair colour at the moment.:

There's a few different people modding FC, but FCDev pushes out new versions so fast I don't see the point in trying any mods until he at least slows down or releases v1.0
