>BMB is still allowed to write comics and is still considered by many to be one the industries top talents

why is this allowed?

>why is this allowed?

Dude, a ton of people are saying Uncanny X-men #600 was the perfect conclusion to his run on X-men that tied all the plots together in a perfect way and that Adult Bobby coming out of the closet were amazing piece of writing. People eat Bendis' shit up and want seconds because the large demographic doesn't care about good writing.

Same way people tried defending Old Man Logan #1 and now say "no seriously, this Iron Man run will totally not disappoint like his other books!"
>>
>>77407675
He mainly writes big name characters and teams, plus some people actually find stuff like pic related to be funny for some reason.

I don't believe you or rather I don't want to believe you.

>People eat Bendis' shit up and want seconds because the large demographic doesn't care about good writing.
I've also seen OP pic being passed around as the pinnacle of humor in comics, so yeah
>>
What's worse? The execution or the punchline of the joke?

>Uncanny X-Men #600 is an almost perfect end that should satisfy X-Men fans who saw this series to the very end. We got great storytelling, new characters, memorable costume changes, and the status quo for a good time was changed for the better.

>Uncanny X-Men #600 features some of the most visually pleasing superhero art of 2015 and is a thematically rich conclusion to Brian Michael Bendis' X-Men epic. It casts aside the action for 36 pages of well-earned character interaction and progression from Beast's fall into villainy to Jean Grey and young Beast's romance and the older Cyclops' well-worn and still criticized path to leadership and change. For me, the best part was the older Iceman coming to terms with his sexuality and realizing that being out could improve his life as both a hero and person in a slightly awkward sequence filled with hope, heart, and humor. Brian Michael Bendis ends his time on the X-Men on a note of victory and family reunion, but with just a touch of darkness

>The X-Men have always been hated and feared, but Bendis strove to make them understood, even as they struggled internally with their own ideologies. It's been conflicted and fractured, but it was rarely ever dull.
>>
>>77407675
Like it's only this guy that's shit, not the entire Marvel anyway.

I wonder if artists resent the fact that he wastes so much panel real estate with his repetitive shit.

Or do they like it since they get paid to be lazy.

Typical anti-Bendis brigade. You guys are the worst of the worst. Always crying because Marvels best writer is reinvigorating comics with his top selling stories. I bet you guys are the same idiots crying about the X-men too. Well too bad, his X-men run is highly praised everywhere else like reddit, and will go down as one of the best. Issue 600 took old and boring characters and reinvigorated them into a new progressive age. Glad Extraordinary X-men will continue his plan.

And there is nothing you can do to stop the Bendis train, lol.
>>
>>77407725
So you're basically saying that Marvel is the Bayformers of comic books, but instead of explosions, it's forced diversity that keeps the people coming back for more.
>>
>>77407990
>that keeps the people coming back for more.
and manufactured outrage, yes
>>
>>77408001
Makes sense to me.
>>
>>77407990
It's mainly the movies, relaunches, and variants that keep people coming back.

>Adult Bobby coming out of the closet

shit, i missed this, so it wasn't just young bobby? That's pretty retarded
>>

Could've been done in four panels, but I found this kinda funny.
>>
>>77407945
>a comic repeats panels for an inane joke

>>
>>77408090
Nope, adult Iceman is gay as well. He always found Angel attractive.
>>
>>77407675
>why is this allowed?
Because he meets deadlines?
>>
>>77408105
Ignore /a/ posters.
>>
>>77408090

Yes, and Jean was in the same room when O5 confronted adult Bobby and gave everybody mental hugs. Bobby's also had the hots for Angel since forever and he specifically was pretending to be straight, rather than being confused or in denial. I say again, for years, Bobby dated, flirted and strung along women because he didn't want anybody know he was gay atop of being a mutant and a superhero. Not even his own team mates with whom he's gone to hell and back on a regular basis for years. And all it took was teen Jean and Bobby have a five minute chat to go from "I'm not gay!" to "omg I'm so happy I can finally be the REAL me! hugs and kisses!"
>>
>>77407675
This is why I only read DC. They have GOOD graphic novel issue like American Alien and Batgirl.
>>
>>77408152
Wait if he was gay all along why the hell didn't he let anybody in the X-Men know early on? It's not like they're going to be homophobic.
>>
>>77407675
I heard Alias was amazing and finally read the first volume today.

No.

It's just as shit as the rest of his stuff. Repetitive art, walls of text, brain-numbing dialogue. Why is it so acclaimed?
>>
>>77408237
To be fair, there are people who are so insecure that they stay in the closet even when their family would accept them as gay, but what makes it retarded is that here it has to involve Jean once again being an invasive bitch reading adult Bobby's mind to get him to admit he's been gay all along.

I'm not even that mad he's gay, though given his history bi-sexual would make more sense. It's the hamfisted way Bendis handled the entire reveal and had Jean be the one who tells Bobby he's gay. When you're already hating O5 Jean this just makes it look like she programmed Bobby to think he was gay.
>>
>>77408281
>Why is it so acclaimed?

MAX imprint doing adult superhero stories in 616 was a novelty at the time. And in broad strokes, it's got interesting ideas and storylines.
>>
>>77408200
THIS, Max Landis is our savior. He is saving comics while hacks like Bendis, Hickman, Spencer, and Slott continue to rape it.
>>
>>77408298
He's literally around psychics all day everyday and it took teen jean to out him. She gets a pat on the back too. This is the worst case of Mary Sue I've seen recently and the fact that its highly praised and will have the "homophobic" excuse for calling it shit actually made me rage.

Oh, and Bendis acting like a little bitch at all criticism because he doesn't give a shit since he can do no wrong in his fans eyes.

People will say this and never read Marjorie Liu's Iceman arc in Astonishing X-Men. This makes me upset.

I'm just glad there was not a recton where Xavier at some point mindwiped Bobby from realizing he was gay or some dumb shit like that. I mean this is still bad but at least they didn't take the opportunity to shit on Chuck even more.

You can talk all the shit you want about Bendis, but you can't deny all the memes that were birthed from how terrible he is. If some of them actually became popular enough, there's no doubt Bendis would get booty blasted.

I think he's the only writer whose managed to birth so many without trying too.

So Bendis is a professional Buckley?
>>
>>77407675
Isn't this a Spidey thing?

Like seriously, I cannot see Tony doing this whatsoever.
>>
>>77407959
Bendis, stop trying to pump up your own work.
>>
>>77407675
>Iron Man's character used to be that he was a no-nonsense CEO who was dealing with alcoholism
>They got Tony off alcohol because he wasn't a 100% positive role model for kiddies
>Now his personality makes him a more grounded Spider-Man
Why the fuck has every Marvel hero turned into a quip-machine?
>>
>>77409291
Because quips sell.
>>
>>77409291
Writing distinctive personalities are hard, it's easier if everyone is the same character.
>>
>>77409291
I feel like they may have wanted Ironman to be his own character at first, but to be more similar to Batman only except having his own personal demons. The no-nonsense CEO thing sounds highly similar to how Batman is. Hell, they're both really similar. They both are filthy stinking rich, have their own gadgets and such and own a huge company. One just happened to gain an alcoholism problem.

And well, once his demons were gone, I guess they just wanted him to look more cool and hip instead of being all serious like Batman is.
>>
>>77407675
BMB?
>>
>>77409347
And now it's Spidey's turn to be Batman with him being CEO of top company on planet, gadgets, themed car and shit.

Joss Whedon

It's the movies. A lot of faggots will try to blame Bendis for this, as usual, but the reality is that the characters in the movies changed comics forever in that regard. You can see Stark, Quill, Lang and even fucking Steve Rogers being funny guys in the comics now because of the movies. I fear for the next time Ultron appears

Pymtron? I'd rather never find out, desu.

American Alien is way better than most Bendis shit.

Actually, is better than the avarage supes comic. Stop caring if the people who writte it is "problematic" or not, just focus on the story.
>>
>>77407725
>Same way people tried defending Old Man Logan #1 and now say "no seriously, this Iron Man run will totally not disappoint like his other books!"
OML #1 WAS good. He just completely fumbled the rest of the book.

And I hate bendis' GotG, X-men, and post-DR Avengers as much as the next guy, but I've always liked Bendis' Tony and I don't particularly care about IM canon so Bendis can feel free to jettison and rewrite whatever he wants. IM is pretty much the perfect place for him.

Giving him two books though is ridiculous.

>>77407990

This. American Alien is one of the comfiest comics of all time and it's even comfier when read in floppie form. I doubted him at first too but Max Landis has truley proved himself to be one of the all-time great Superman writers.

Not quite Morrison's ASS-tier, but definitely up there. Hopefully if enough of us buy it, then he'll get put on the main Superman ongoing where he deserves to be.
