Repost from last thread.
Lineart of sidekick.
>>
>>77305287
why the change from cowboy
>>
>>77305358

no change, they're both characters in the same story.

is this a spicy new meme?
>>
>>77304420
Still fleshing out the characters. I already know what the bones of the story are, but I realized my characters are just kind of...there. So I'm developing them more.
Story as of now
>Space, 3999
>MC is an uninspired manchild who delivers packages around the milky way
>finds out one of his packages has a teen girl in it
>fuck fuck shit
>Makes it his duty to take her home
>of course it's not easy

Cast:
>Parker is a party guy. He only took up delivery for the travel. Irresponsible. Hung up on his ex(es?)
>Camilla is the heiress of a produce company (think Wal-mart but with food). Looks different than her fellow aliens for some reason. Curious. Sheltered.
>Galactic Police Chief has no name. He has the thankless job of leading the Galactic Police Force and investigating big cases. Calculated. Knows Camilla.

In terms of my art, my biggest problems are that I can't into guys or backgrounds, but I'm practicing.
>>
>>77305418
oh my mistake

just that I saw you labelled the cowboy old and the girl new so i thought it was a change in design

I wasn't in the last thread for very long so I dunno
>>
>>77305474
It didn't just confuse you, brother. There was at least one other person in the previous thread confused by the "old" and "new" placement.

>>77305526

It's my fault for being a raging autist and not labelling shit correctly.

I went back fixed the girl's right arm as the one I'd drawn previously felt very janky.
It should read a lot better now.
>>
>>77304843
If you don't mind me asking, what are your brushes that you use for this? I'm assuming right off the bat you're using SAI but I'm digging your line art a lot.

>I assume you're using SAI, BUT it's good

>>
>>77306174
The brush used for the line art looks like the binary brush on SAI from really looking into it. I assumed it was and said what I did. Was there something wrong with what I posted or something?

>>
>>77305465
i'm drawn in by the premise!
we can help you, there are a few simple rules that help most people who 'can't draw guys'. feel free to show us your examps. as for backgrounds, that's pretty important for the genre. how are you at cgi? youre allowed to make maps and then screencap and trace them.
>>
>>77306061
yknow if youre looking for a name for him, you could do something that very obscurely references clint
evidently clinton derives from either glymp-ton or glinde-ton, so you could 'translate' clint to either 'fence' or 'bright stream'
.. just an idea
>>
>>77306540

I was just brainstorming with a friend about how one of his main shticks is that he's going around hunting for stardust, so bright stream works perfectly in this situation.
Thanks for the input, m80.

From last thread.

I going to draw some spider-man in marvel adventure of spider-man until I become good.
>>
>>77308552
draw from life, not other imitations of life. try drawing with some pen on paper, even if you can't share it with us. it's important to learn to draw just for yourself.
>>
>>77308666
nothin wrong with trying to learn from good drawings.

but the thing is guy youre drawing with a mouse. you will never be good using a mouse, ever.
>>
>>77308666
>draw from life

Fuck! You are evil.

I guess I going to draw that fucking frog in
>>>/ic/

I finish drawing fucking spider-man for nothing. Goddamn it!
>>
>>77308763
no, but he implied that he was just going to practice off of this one comic. it's important to vary studies and also important to supplement that with studies from life because any and all stylization takes liberties. an untrained eye won't be able to see where those liberties are taken and as a result may limit themselves by only learning the shorthand version. only knowing the shorthand may result in the right "style", but it'll make one inflexible because they won't know how to translate with only a limited library of knowledge to pull from.
>>
>>77308763
>but the thing is guy youre drawing with a mouse. you will never be good using a mouse, ever.

No drawing is ever wasted. It's best to learn to not to be precious with your work. I throw away probably 2/3 of maybe drawings, and maybe a quarter of what I keep finds its way online. It's about improving, not getting the instant relief of comments and online attention (and trust me, I know the feeling of working really hard on something and being disappointed by the lack of response.) Drawing from life is very important and it can be very fun, you just have to figure out what most interests you and then gear your studies toward them. Like you could look up some stock from the links above and draw poses that you think would be helpful to your comic. But try to draw the model in a naturalistic way - don't just stylize the pose and draw your character in the model's place cause you won't benefit nearly as much.
>>
>>77309057

Let me see your artwork for one time in your life.

What I said was, privacy is where feedback is at its best. An exchange has many little back and forths. So many in fact that if the conversation I had with someone on skype earlier were brought here, without changing anything, the post count of this thread would jump from 102 to 402. At least. And that's not counting the outsiders who would jump in as well.

I don't ignore people for criticizing. I just think public, anonymous criticism with a crowd of this magnitude has serious flaws. One of those flaws is forced ultra-brevity. Another is how we can't account for certain 3rd party anons who are just out to start shit between the two apparent parties.

And as for this specific thing.
>If it's all praises without any negative at all then it's okay to crits him publicly.
Nothing so sinister. If it's going to be in public, like this, it would be ideal if it's something that you don't expect to get a reply to. And if you say something like "Nice work!" well that's indeed something you can't really reply to. If you said "That could use some work" that would merit a discussion. And like I said early, privacy suits a discussion better.

I could kiss Kazerad on the lips because he's made an excellent post about precisely this awhile back. http://kazerad.tumblr.com/post/83640119545/communication

Please read that. We'll be closer to understanding this afterwards.

Nothing against you m8, but this thread exist for the purpose of exposure and discussion, increasing the post counts is not something anyone here should be concerned with.
No one is taxing you for the post count, why do you care?

>One of those flaws is forced ultra-brevity
Brevity is not an issue, whe have a 2000 character limit which is plenty to summarize any feedback you need to give, or receive.

If you still prefer Skype, that absolutely okay, but don't make up excuses for not bringing the discussion here, with made up rules and whatnot.

I haven't finished reading your work, but my mind hasn't changed much. I'm having fun reading it, but the setting could use a bit more of exposition.

See? I had plenty of space to say all this shit.

This is not an issue of message length.

It's the same issue I have with forums.

Discussions that really get somewhere involve many short posts, volleyed to and fro. And a bunch of short responses strung together, hundreds in a row, between two people, would be unacceptable to the rest of you.

Don't say it wouldn't be. It would. And don't pretend that there's a substitute for tennis-like discussion either. That'd be like saying Megabloks and Lego are the same thing.

>would be unacceptable to the rest of you.
I'm sorry, I can't see why. Once a thread reach its limit post, a new one is created, I don't get why having a long back and forth with someone else is a bad thing.

That you prefer in private, fine. Again, personal preferences, but no one is harm if you do it on the thread instead.

The only time I've seen posts of people complaining of posting too much, is when the thread derails into things like this that has nothing to do with webcomic, and I know I'm just throwing more wood into the fire replying, so my apologies beforehand.

>And don't pretend that there's a substitute for tennis-like discussion either

I don't, but again, why care about the post count if you are discussing what this thread is supposed to discuss?

Changing the topic; I've been wondering; between chapters 1 and 2, I changed Selena's skin colour, because the one I used originally gave a dirt sensation, rather than skin, but it appears this tone is too light for a black girl, so I've been looking into it, and I'd like to see you guys take on this.
I know it sounds kinda "too standarized" that I still use a palette instead of applying colours dynamically to accelerate the proccess of getting pages done. But that's how it is.

I made this shitty compilation on paint because I don't have anything better at the office. Sorry about that.

Anybody know if there's a way to enable arrow key page navigation through the tumblr webcomic theme?

I asked for suggestions from readers about things I could improve upon literally every single one of the few suggestions I got were about arrow key navigation.

I would like to think it's not that hard to make happen, but I have a hard enough time making a link in HTML. Can't even imagine how to go about making the arrow keys do stuff.

Well, you are training your eye to see the whole picture at least. However copying pictures may be frustrating in the long run. How about doing some simpler exercises? There are great tutorials online about finding the general shapes and movement of the drawing. They are also rewarding because you can't really fuck them up and they can look pretty sweet even if you don't yet have all the technical knowledge. I recommend you start from there and enjoy the process of simplifying what you see. Drawing doesn't need to be hard and you don't need to compare yourself to masters all the time.

I got two creator owned comics ideas that I wouldn't mind some input on. The first I'm not going into detail cause its my baby and I'm keeping it very close to my heart. First is called:
>Capes and Dragons.
It's set in a medival fantasy word were instead of stereotypical knights there are individuals with super powers. It's kind of a love letter to 80s cartoons and modern comics. Second I don't mind sharing. It's called:
>Dead Orbit.
Pretty much it's the Exorcist in space and very much based on HP Lovecrafts fear of the unknown. It stars a strong female lead who finds herself on a rescue and repair mission for a missing earth colony ship orbiting Saturn. Once her and her crew arrive everything goes to shit: from possessions, to a room filling up with all the water on board and drowning someone, to alien pregnancy, etc. I just want to make it very uncomfortable and keep readers in the dark about what this thing is thays haunting the ship.
>>

>>77324078

>>
>>77324145

Okay, I give you the picture next week.

I'm need to work on my comics.
>>
>>77322221
No... Dewd (and some others here) I suspect do 'studies' that they attempt to breeze through as fast as possible so they can get back to their comic and be able to say "b-but I did studies." They are not patient enough to realize it takes more than a handful of studies for results to be evident in their work. Studying is about learning how things work visually but also training your muscle memory so one doesn't fall back into drawing a shorthand version of things. Dewd could argue his work is "simple" but things don't fit together dimensionally. I've been on these threads for over a year and he has barely improved his linework and drawing - his biggest strength and greatest improvement has been found in his coloring. He's much better at evoking a setting or mood... but nice coloring can only do so much for lackluster art.

>>77324195
And your English. I sound like a broken record here because dialogue quality is more important than art quality. I know it'll be hard, and your country situation might not allow for it but if you could use English in your day-to-day speech and talk to some native English speakers regularly your English skills will improve considerably.

>>
>>77323322

>>77323367
yeah but you should still be individualized. React to the art as if it's the first time you saw it, not in a way that's based on it reminding you of something else, which in turn you judged for its content and not its art quality.. or worse, judged harshly because of how common it is. those are all retardular reasons.
like, if some art reminds you of van gogh, that doesn't mean it has an air of mental illness around it just because he did.

there is a very slight difference using a live model, if you have stereoscopic vision. otherwise a picture is more than adequate as a replacement. It's not easy to get a suitably large / close-up frog to hold still while you draw it. Photo referencing is just fine.

>dialogue quality is more important than art quality
I know this is an age-old debate but seriously... no... there are "silent" comics out there but not many that are purely dialogue (though it could definitely work... panels of text with a fitting color behind it... it'd be pretty formal.) Like it's important to make pages that would read even if the dialogue was dropped. But it wouldn't work, most of the time, vice versa (otherwise you'd just have a book.)
>>
>>77324057
superhero fantasy? i can dig it. that doesn't get combined as often as it should. Of course the people in the setting would probably think their more scifi-ish powers were magic.. maybe you could drop 'alchemy' a few times.
as for the exorcist in space, that actually sounds pretty neat. we get a lot of space horror but most of it centers around dealing with the horrors as an immediate threat, rather than a general but worrying thing that you have to call in an exorcist for. and surely in this future it'd be someone else you call in, some kind of detective..
>>
>>77324222
Yes, they aren't patient enough. That's what I'm saying. Stop getting frustrated, start pitying and thanking god you were blessed with more patience. backyards are a great thing to start with. Try to reconcile the mental map you have of the place with the actual view you have from one particular place within it. Then move to another corner, and see how it differs. This will teach you a ton of stuff
Then try doing it with a more unfamiliar area (maybe a nearby park) and see how the process differs.
and if you don't feel like doing the whole landscape, you can focus on an individual shrub. it's all good practice.

> a very slight difference

no.... photos are on a flat, 2D surface. models exist in three dimensional space, which you must translate into a 2D one. the reason one draws from life is to learn how to translate 3D into 2D - drawing from photos defeats the purpose.
>>
>>77324900
it depends. newspaper comics, XKCD, Brevity, that kind of thing.. they rely entirely on word quality. they're illustrated musings. farces.
meanwhile a superhero comic is a lot more likely to have embarrassingly terrible dialogue because they're focusing harder on the art
>>
>>77325094
I like to think my superhero comic has dialogue that isn't embarrassingly terrible. Cliche, perhaps, but I try to make it not suck.
>>
>>77324890
Drawing from life is so much better than drawing from photos, it is known.
>>
>>77325001
This was the first time I'd replied to any of those posts about Dewd. I'm not frustrated so much as I know/have seen folks (including myself) waste time spinning their wheels trying to troubleshoot through their comics instead of some studies. I think eventually all drawing becomes fun, and that's when the real improvement kicks in. I don't feel such a deep difference between drawing comics and drawing from life as I did a few years ago. I just want Dewd to feel that too cause he seems like a nice person who obviously really likes making things.

>>77325011

>>

The most loose definition of comics is a series of panels. So, yes, actually, a series of "random beautiful pictures" does = comics by virtue of them being in a sequence and thus implying a narrative.

>>77325433
folks hate USG around here but fail to realize they aren't the target demo - isn't it for preteen/teenage girls? i have the sneaking suspicion it's not the art or writing you guys hate, but the whole "girl power" aspect and the new target audience for the character. the "old" squirrel girl seemed silly interacting so seriously with logan and iron man - the new series seems like a more appropriate avenue for her.
>>
>>77325924
yeah that's fine, it's something a real person would say i suppose. i get more critical of that when i'm proofreading.
>>
>>77326073
the problem is that it's insane to target that audience, when that audience will eat up anything you throw at them as long as you firmly tell them 'this is what you must be doing' because they're spineless.
reinforcing what other media has already told them is dumb. it limits you
>>
>>77324941
I'm still trying to think of what I should call my "super heroes" in my fantasy comic. Either Supers or Mages or something along those lines.
As for the other comic I want to not only keep the reader in the dark but also my characters. The characters are mostly scientists but a few are of faith so right away they think they're dealing with a demon or some other melevolent spirit. The true threat though is going to be revealed close to the end of my story. So far though I just have a synopsis and skeleton outline of both. Just downloaded paint tool Sai and I'm gonna start working on it pretty soon here.

>>77326073
>i have the sneaking suspicion it's not the art or writing you guys hate, but the whole "girl power" aspect and the new target audience for the character.

And you'd be wrong. I mean, that might be part of it, but the artist is a fucking hack who has gone on twitter/tumblr as saying that she draws her characters as ugly as possible on purpose so they are as unattractive/alternative/unappealing as possible.

When you purposefully make your art as unattractive and shitty as possible, just to curb anyone potentially finding your characters attractive, it is just stupid.

And that stupid fucking face...God, she uses that stupid face for every single character, male or female, with the big buck teeth, and fucked up lips.

She's a tumblrina of the highest form. There are a fuckton of other comics that are being written and drawn for teenage girls that are far better (in fact, the industry as a whole, especially within Marvel and DC, seems to be gearing more toward being inclusive of that younger female audience) than USG.

People hate it because she is spiteful and makes her art ugly as sin just to be contrarian. That's why people hate her, especially since so many other, much better artists go passed over in favor of the godawful schlock we ended up with.

it's important to keep etymology in mind with this kind of thing. warlock means covenant-denier. you're right though, some portmanteau of other words meaning magic or skills or the result-of-alchemy or something.
>>
>>77325093
You idiot it doesn't matter if draw from a photo or real life.

>when that audience will eat up anything you throw at them as long as you firmly tell them 'this is what you must be doing' because they're spineless

if you're a BUSINESS, which marvel is, that sounds like a great demo to target. you forget cape comics are consumer objects first, art objects second. also i don't see how squirrel girl is reinforcing other stereotypes about teen girls in media - she's an awkward, chubby super heroine who is the protagonist of her series and presented positively. that's unique compared to the teengirl media that was around when i was that age (the clique, gossip girl, etc...) i would have LOVED a book like squirrel girl.
>>
>>77326554
sounds to me like the artist is on our side, and is trolling the tumblrinas by making their heros ugly. people who are actually doing it to be contrarian and 'defy visual normsl' don't actually call it ugly. or were those your words

>>77326568
yes it does... and i literally explained why. but here's a citation for you:

1. Copying two-dimensional photos inhibits an artist from seeing objects in volumes and space.
2. It prevents an artist from judging distances and perspective.
3. The artist doesn’t think and visualize the three-dimensional nature of an object, but subconsciously regards all objects and shapes two-dimensionally as seen in photos.
4. By copying flat images, an artist doesn’t make a constructive drawing; there is no comprehensive understanding of objects’ masses and their spatial relationship.
5. Drawing from photos forces an artist to draw what he or she sees rather than what one knows.
6. It stops an artist from learning and following the traditional, time-proven, step-by-step, drawing methods, which have been perfected by many generations of fine artists starting from the Old Masters.
7. Working from photos prevents an artist from learning from his or her mistakes, and makes it impossible to improve drawing skills by analyzing and fixing those mistakes.

you cant support any of that though, you're just saying it
photography hasn't even existed long enough for anyone to know how well it works as a model. and when it comes to small animals and shit it is the only option. you just have to estimate the 3dness of it.. which is easy if you have a brain

Jam, Sammy, and Chel for the next issue of the Sisters. Doing some character exploration right now, realizing how big an influence Sam Raimi's stuff has been on me. Kind of interesting to notice.

Next issue starts Friday.

I liked Dinosaur Comics, but it's clear his writing works best in small doses. Over-saturation of his product shows he doesn't have a ton to say of worth.
>>77326073
First USG was passable and fun, but there was no increase in quality and it lacked weight as it went on. If it was street-powered college girl, I'd accept it. I'm upset Gurihiru didn't get to do the art for the series because the stuff going on it now just doesn't do it for me. Doesn't help that the writing went downhill and it just didn't resonate. If the target demo is preteens/teenage girls, so be it; but the reason old SG worked playing off Logan and Iron Man had to do with pairing. Straight man, funny man, et cetera. Doesn't work as well when everyone plays by the cartoon rules.

The "girl power" aspect to it is what it is, but it's kind of weak. I mean it is present, much in the same way that Squirrel Girl is present; you can say it is there but it isn't exactly powerful or well-done. At least by my accounting.

The facial anatomy also bothers me because it isn't well-defined enough to argue rubber-facing stuff like she's Jim Carrey. It is more of a mask or a screen than a skull, if that makes any sense?

But those are just my thoughts. There's plenty of shit out there, I try not to get mad about any one thing I dislike so long as I'm allowed to have what I do like.

She pretty much went out and straight-up said she purposefully made them ugly so that there was no chance people would find her characters attractive and/or make fan art and/or masturbate to them.

I'm pretty sure she flat-out said she didn't want straight people masturbating to her characters.

>>77326686
>opinion discarded

Well, one man's trash is another man's treasure. If you can't see the flaw in wanting to make all of your characters fat, ugly, or minorities, just for the sake of them being fat, ugly, or minorities (which, is definitive of the "tumblr crowd") then I am afraid you are simply blind to what's going on.

Marvel and DC (particularly Marvel) have latched onto the coattails of Tumblr in the last two years or so because that's what's trending right now. Alternative relationships and/or sexualities, minorities, appealing to the "womyn"/neo-feminist crowd, same-sex relationships, etc has set tumblr, facebook, and several social media sites ablaze in recent days. And the comics industry has latched onto that, which is why you see so many of these things being filtered into/pandered to in modern comic books.
>>
>>77327049
i'm not saying you can't use photo as reference - of course you can. but photos are not good for teaching yourself HOW TO DRAW. your ability to estimate in the cases where you can't have a live reference is directly influenced by how much practice you have converting 3D to 2D. if you have none, what frame of reference would you have to come to an even remotely accurate estimate?

>>77327007
oh... i think i get what you mean. like make a new franchise instead of recycling squirrel girl? i actually can get behind that. i think the new moon girl is really cute.
>>
>>77326258
Any magic practitioner title will work especially as a pejorative, although you could go with Miracles, Blessed, God-touched, granted, Boon-walker or Nephilim.

In Witch Hunter Robin, it turns out pretty quickly the characters aren't hunting down devil practitioners, but essentially Marvel Mutants and espers, most with a single ability.

you've redesigned chel a few times haven't ya
i feel like i'll change my mind once i see her in color, but i feel like this design is too close to erin. .. or maybe just too streisand. but we'll see! I don't even remember your past designs, I just remember you showed us once and I liked those
>>
>>77327162
Nah, I can see that. I've only read the first one, and that was because the artist was here doing a signing in my city and I was like "hey, why not?"

>>77327250
I think she wants to draw those kinds of folks because she hasn't seem them well represented elsewhere. But like I said, my experience with SG and its crew isn't very extensive. Also, get off your high horse re: pandering. Comics were just pandering to a different crowd for years, but that wasn't making them enough money so... they targeted demos that would buy their books and give them cash. That demo happens to be "tumblr" now. Don't act as though mainsteam comics haven't been a big ol panderfest for decades.
>>
>>77327162
indeed, that kind of face looks like a weird rubber mask, like the ninja turtles used to wear in the old cartoon

the problem is, in our day, people who were trying to combat looks-ism as it were were trying to say there IS no ugly.
now that we have decidedly proven that, though taste exists, there absolutely IS ugly and beautiful, and they're based on health and correctly-functioning genes, these people have to resort to being absolute contrarian idiots

plus when you look at a photo, the shading and such lets you know how full the shapes are.. You can tell looking at a coin and a painting, the difference in depth between the two face shapes.
but i wonder if those of us who are stereoblind might actually have an advantage there

Old Chel.jpg

>>77327369
Yeah, Chel's been redesigned a bit. She's sort of floated about as a character who lacked a lot of relevance in an already decently sized cast. But I always liked her, because she's a good third-input for Sammy and Jam.

She's a bit shorter than Erin, thinner due to eating disorders. Doesn't have the big sad eyes of the older design, but I'm sure those'll come into play. And she undergoes more physical changes down the line, same with Sammy. Three story arcs per in-universe year is the intended goal.

We just tied Chel into Walt, made her his niece. Which makes the following arc a bit more interesting. It'll also help with some differentiation between her and Erin to come. Erin goes through some physical changes at the end of the arc, nothing radical but enough to help differentiate. Also Conrad's fault.

But that's a good point, and I thank you for pointing that out. I didn't totally love her past designs, mostly because she lacked a quality that showed her pep was a cover for a lot of emptiness. It was just pep. Plus we have zero blond people in the comic right now, mostly gingers and brunettes. Dan was blonde for a period. Dirty nasty toilet water blonde. It was lost in translation.

Thanks for the reply.

The problem is that WE wanted to be pandered to because we wanted to have money.. we knew someday us nerds would be the richest because we'd work in computer jobs and shit.. but because we actually LIVED life, we spent our money on it, and now these other people whined and cheated to get money for being oppressed and shit, and now THEY're the ones.. they're using that money to become the objects of pandering instead. and it's not fucking fair, we never got a chance to be the cool desired demographic. Or at least not for very long.
>>
>>77327381
>Also, get off your high horse re: pandering.

No, it is pandering of the highest calibur.

There is really no merit to just handing over the mantle of Thor to a woman. Or handing over the mantle of Captain America to a black guy. Or handing over the mantle of Spider-Man to a black kid, or making this character gay out of nowhere, or that character trans out of nowhere.

It is meaning less pandering.

Because all you're doing is handing over a prestigious title, and all of the power and accomplishments over to another group without telling the story of them getting there.

Cape comics are always about the adversity that people face, and how they deal with the duality of the personal lives vs. their Hero lives. They're about the rise and fall of people. I'm not at all against a gay hero, or a trans hero, or a female hero, or a minority hero. I don't want you think that. You can tell a pretty powerful story (since this is largely new territory we're exploring here with some of these issues) by showing their trials and their rise to be a powerful, respected name in their universe.

Instead, boringly, they're just handed titles that have been held by white guys for decades, and all of the prestige and power is pretty much meaningless because we didn't have to really see their rise/arc to get there.

Sometimes I feel like the only one who sees the flaw in this method..

more to the point, these people aren't oppressed anymore. haven't been. and even if they were, it sure as fuck wasn't very long before everyone caved. they have everything now, and they're clearly in the majority and have all the power. so at this point it's somewhere between gloating and an oppressive takeover

haha oh my god, cry me a river! personally i think comics are better today than they have been in a while... then again, i don't really bother with capes either.

>>77327677
they hand over titles so people will buy the books. the average person will buy a spider-man comic, because hey, spiderman! thor! etc! but it's harder to market a totally new brand, even if you're a big company like marvel. again, it's just about the $.
>>
>>77327809
Couple old comics, mostly three-to-four pagers.
The bigfoot one, which that panel is from, is referenced a lot. The comic didn't have Jam and Sammy in harmony, and he was kind of a dumbass and Jam was kind of a jerk. Also had Bigfoot tits.

We reference it. Might re-do it at some point if we ever get some Patreon funbucks.

Also a comic for a future arc featuring Jam meeting her dad, a comic where Jam and Sammy are at the mall dealing with goth kids (actually based on a spiritual consultation I did where someone was claiming to be talking to an evil spirit in their house and I freaked them out before saying the name they were using is a Gygaxian creation). A comic where Erin and Beatrice cleanse the house from an evil spirit from a doll. One where they celebrate Halloween. One that's super emotion-baiting about the day their parents sort of abandoned them and Erin was left to be in charge.

On tapastic we have a comic which is literally just the girl's parents being 70s swinger cultists. We had an almost finished mini-issue about them and some of their enemies who will show up later. Didn't look as good, so it got dropped.

Plenty of old comics actually, from 2011-2012. We've improved and fixed characterization up a lot. But a lot of the events we keep for reference continuity on our own end.

Sammy's fear of bigfoot is also my fear of bigfoot. It involves Harry and the Hendersons being on a channel away from the Sci-Fi channel which had a horror flick about Bigfoot on. A channel flip during a commercial and my young self is traumatized.

>everybody being a-okay.
Well, it worked out great for Scott, didn't it?
>>
>>77327967
And also a full comic about why Beatrice is a mess, which the artist wrote all by himself and it has some good chops to it. But it'll probably get redone too.

>>77327754
People change over a few years, especially in High School. Jam is fifteen. She'll be 18 by the time it's done. We've got a set end. We've already epilogued a lot of stuff.

Some have radically changed. But I still like the college-kid Jam we came up with. She'll probably be canon because she's the logical progression of all the things to come.
>>
>>77327967
Oh man... where can I read them? Ever since I read the whole thing though I've been wanting more. I intend to obnoxiously draw you a bunch of fanart once I'm done with school/finally finish my comic. The Sisters is the modern fantasy I always wanted but never could find. It's great.

iirc patterson film had tits. titsquatch is important!

oh god that story... i fucking love your stories. There is nothing like the look on someone's face when you let them know something is just an internet meme and not real folklore. I always felt like if they had done a slenderman movie a few years back (yknow at the time when that was a good idea), that should have been the plot. play it totally seriously as a real ancient myth, woodcuttings and all, then haflway through reveal it's just a dumb internet thing and have the guy wonder what's actually going on, and it turns out it became real through belief or something. but then it turns out it became real from joking, instead of that cliche.
