They were doing it as fans, not as an official project. and as active Marvel freelancers they were essentially told they couldn't do that, due to legal issues.

Marvel and DC usually don't give a shit what artists do as fan works, or prints/sketchbooks but so many people thought it was them doing an official Marvel Swimsuit book again that Marvel had to shut them down on it.
