When I first read Corto Maltese, I wasn't impressed by it. I only read one short story (the one about the seagull) and I was expecting something a bit more action-packed. It wasn't until years later, when I read a storytime of Ballad of The Salt Sea on /co/ that I realised how amazing it was.
