Gadot talking to Glamour magazine about Wonder Woman -

>“For BvS it was important for me that we show how independent she is,” Gadot told Glamour. “She is not relying on a man, and she’s not there because of a love story. She’s not there to serve someone else… She has so many strengths and powers, but at the end of the day she’s a woman with a lot of emotional intelligence. She’s loving… And it’s all her heart — that’s her strength. I think women are amazing for being able to show what they feel. I admire women who do. I think it’s a mistake when women cover their emotions to look tough. I say let’s own who we are and use it as a strength.”

If nothing else, Gadot has a firm grasp on her character. Glad we're not getting spartan wonderdyke like most adaptations, and honestly, most team books and Finch's terrible run.

I know it's too late to bitch now or that bitching in the first place would have gotten me nowhere. Or that some one would have heard them and said 'OH SHIT, EVERYONE STOP PRODUCTION. This asshole on 4chan has a truely amazing idea'.

But I'll bitch anyway, I'm not completely without hope, but I am not excited for this. And it is partially this sword and shield wielding, seemingly hungry for battle (according to BvS) Wonder Woman that we're getting.

So far, you know, just looking at what I have to work with and guessing from there. I feel like her character is going to be way off mark and way to aggressive. And I think just getting rid of the sword and shield and making the lasso her primary weapon could have changed a great deal of that and made her more defensive/protective type of character and added have some really interesting and unique fight scenes.

The structure of the first half of the movie makes no sense, it's clearly a hold-over from a previous draft.

The flashbacks are randomly inserted into the film with no rhyme or reason, and they don't connect to the scenes that lead into them beforehand or the scene after them.

The entire Kryton opening is garbage. Nice set design doesn't fix awful expository dialogue.

Even by summer blockbuster standards, The Codex is a worthless MacGuffin that only exists to include drama between Clark and Zod since Goyer couldn't be bothered to set it up via the characters interacting.

MoS has script problems all the way down to the foundation.
>>
>>84507606
This so fucking hard.

If anything, they should've gotten Scott Eastwood to play Steve Trevor, and gotten Chris Pine to play Hal.

Nathan Fillion wouldn't be bad either. Depended entirely on what they were going for. For an older, more experienced Hal, Fillion would be optimal. Pine would be great for a younger, cockier Hal just starting out. Not like either would ever be Hal anyway.

I'm sure there is but I really think it's mainly for more prominent roles.
I totally forgot about the Wondeman thing but I think he's just going to be on some movie posters and maybe in a scene on a tv in the background or something. From what I've heard it doesn't sound like anything that would obligate him to Marvel, it doesn't sound like anything that if they decided to make Simon a main character in a future movie they couldn't just replace him and gloss over it as one of those small changes that no one even thinks to mention.

It's unnecessary. Hell even if they did want to make her old enough to have fought in WW1, you'd only have to had made her about as old as anyone who fought in WW1 then by that point. 5000 years is just a superfluous number. Especially since she's supposed to be naive and youthful. You can't quite be as naive at 5000 than you were around your early-mid 20's, I'd imagine. And it just raises more questions. Like did she not leave Paradise Island sooner if she wanted to see the world so badly?

I think the longer she spends on the island the more of a desire she might have to leave it and the more shocked she would be to see a world she felt that didn't live up to it. I mean 5000 years of strong women, learning and peace and your first look outside of that bubble is WW1. I think it kind of easily explains why she would give up on the world of man with just one visit.

I don't know. It just seems to me that they slapped on WW's age because the LC show did the same thing. That does make sense but will they really go in that direction?

I never did get this dissonance with Mouseketeers. Marvel is always praised for being the champions of diversity when DC literally casted a Samoan for Aquaman, a Eastern European for WW, already pushing a black guy for the initial team up, & queer jew for Flash. Avengers was practically a Klans meeting.

No, I get what you're saying, I'm skeptical or worried about a few things concerning this movie. I don't know the term for it but it's like I don't have a real positive vibe for this movie, for the direction they seem to be taking, but I want to be wrong. I want this to be a huge surprise and I'll have to eat my words. So sometimes I'm just trying to give it some credit or take away some of the sting of the stuff that gets me down.

yea but they didn't say first R rated movie like that sign says first female super hero movie or Ms. Marvel being the first muslim hero or Silk being the first asian. That's all true and people really do ride marvels dick to much on the progressive thing but pretending this was just a natural decision on DC's part or that they were trying to be progressive because being progressive is the right thing to is bullshit.

They had years to watch what Marvel did and try to do something differently. It's the reason their movies have a darker tone and it's the reason they went with more diverse casting choices, because they heard people bitch about Marvels quips and they heard people bitch about the white Chris's. If DC got started sooner or fuck could do a really successful DC movie without Batman they would have been just as white as any Marvel movie.

Not to mention Marvel hasn't got a single female superhero as iconic as Wonder Woman or Catwoman. Their first and only female solo film, Captain Marvel, is a legacy character who was originally a man.

And yet when Catwoman shows up, someone snowflake always complains that she sways her hips too much or that one of the villains called her a bitch even though she's one of the most empowered female characters in all of comics.

I personally don't equate Marvel decisions with Marvel comics decisions other than attempts to cash in off of movies success and the same goes for DC/WB and DC. If they were connected if the heads of DC and Marvel comics were making decisions for the movies things would be entirely different at both companies.

To me the movie side is more driven by positive financial return and it is at the core of their decision making. Not to say that isn't a motivating factor for the comics side but they have and it seems to me their decisions show they have some spark of creativity or ability to take a risk once and awhile.

Blacks can direct whatever they want, if you are surprised there are less black directors in mostly-white places and that many just go for "black things" you should realize it's because a lot of what blacks tall about is race, racism and "black culture", like you are doing right now.

If you want to get jobs then start treating yourself as a person first, and not as a black first.
>But muh
Just no, stop, guess why hispanics get neat directing jobs?
