I´m on number 35 of the archie´s sonic comic and I have read like 4 or 5 mini series.Have to say is pretty boring and silly most of the time with a few exceptions. People said that up to 50 the comic gets worst and recomend to jump straight to number 160 when it gets good. Should I do it? or should i read certain parts?
Also, should I bother with Sonic Universe?

Personally, I say just power through it. Yeah, it gets pretty bad, but I think going through the bad eventually helps you appreciate the goodness that happens around where people keep telling others to skip to, and you might find something gold while wading through the bad.
Before 50, that silliness that you're experiencing is because it was still going for the cartoon audience. Around 50 is where it goes through a tone shift, and gets into being a more weirdly "serious" comic that just starts to do some really strange stuff because of what happens in it.

>Sonic Universe
In any case, whatever you do, yes, you should bother with Sonic Universe. If anything, that's where a lot of the great moments of the Sonic comics happen.

>you should bother with Sonic Universe.
When should I start reading it? afther reaching the number 160 or before?
>>84481677
Sonic Universe doesn't start until well after 160, so you can hold off until or after then
It does, slightly, continue off from the shortly lived Sonic X comic, though, but, despite me saying that you should wade through all the comics, just about all of that is negligible.

Thanks m8. The threads on /co/ and /v/ made me want to read the comic. Looks pretty intersting desu.
>>84481876
It can be. I mean, when you look at it all, it's just an extremely bizarre adventure that shouldn't make sense, and often doesn't make sense, but still somehow survived all this time and through a lot of bullshit, in story and in development.
Whether you continue on or skip, I hope you enjoy whatever wild ride it may bring.

>Looks pretty intersting desu.
that's how they get you.
>>84481980
I´ll try no to skip.
>>84481366
I personally say just trudge through the list
>>84482235
Thanks, that helps a lot. I hate when I´m reading a number and it says I have to read ANOTHER mini serie.
>boring
I hope you're just talking about those Knuckles stories.
Gallagher and DeCesare's shorts were really strong.

Someone posted this in a previous thread. I don't know how accurate any of it is, as I haven't even started reading through yet.
>>84482518
I haven´t pay attention who writtes what number, but starting number 18 and with Sally´s mini series everything improves a little.

>Improves
You're beyond saving, anon.
>>84482794
I mean I´m on number 36 rifght now and it´s better than the first 17 numbers.
>>84483184
Again, you are reading garbage and praising it. There's no hope to be had.
>>84483289
I never said it was good I just said it was less shitty than the first numbers.

If you unironically believe a mess of retcons and a journey into a void dimension to rescue the long lost king dressed in Tolkien armor in a token attempt to add drama and look like continuity actually exists equates to better writing than well composed gag stories, you have no fucking standards. That's all there is to it, anon.
You shouldn't waste your time on Sonic; go tackle a nice novel or something. Anything to keep you from unironically believing that hack "serious" writing is better than adequate comedy.
