True, but I get it, and it was a good moment of character development-- both her initial desire to leave, and her ultimate decision to stay.
Like, this kid has spent the last year going to some pretty extreme lengths trying to find the family members that the Garrison claimed were dead. She didn't even *know* that they were alive in all that time-- heck, she was willing to hack a Garrison computer despite having no real reason to believe that they were lying to her. This is something that is overwhelmingly important to her, past the point of reason.
Then she not only had a lot more evidence that her family is alive, but she had the means to find them. If she was gonna be completely selfish, she could have left in Green in the middle of the night-- it's probably faster, and definitely safer, than taking a shuttle. But instead she was upfront about it, and it seems plausible that she mistakenly thought that they could find a new Green Paladin to replace her.
Basically, Pidge not going after her family(which is a whole lot like giving up on them) despite being TOTALLY OBSESSED with finding them for the past year is kind of impressive. It's hard to make personal sacrifices for the greater good.
So I started watching this after an artist I follow on Twitter kept posting stuff about it.
