He only really shows up in 2 things: New Xmen by Grant Morrison, and Wolverine and the Xmen by Jason Aaron. The majority of his characterization comes from the later.
Grant wrote the kid as an edgelord school shooter type, while Aaron wrote him as a parody of that.

Morrison's X-Men and Wood's X-Men: Alpha & Omega mini are the only things he's good in.
Aaron's stuff sucks but Quentin does feature prominently through his run. Personally, I wouldn't subject myself to it.
