The villain song in an animated musical (made popular with the Great Mouse Detective's Ratigan) should be one of the best songs of the movie. The standards are so high with stuff with Poor Unfortunate Souls, Hellfire, and Be Prepared.

Then you have stuff like quest for camelot.

my gf made me watch this. She was laying behind me and the laptop was in front of me. About halfway through I start feeling her push up against me and hear her moaning. I could tell she was touching herself. So I start to turn around and she just pushed me back saying that I needed to pay attention to the movie. So I laid there while she made herself cum. At one point she reached over to feel my crotch and so I think "finally, some action" but then she just laughed and said I was word for getting hard watching a cartoon.

this was the second most sexually awkward movie watching experience in my life, and the movie wasn't even that good

The biggest problem with Slim was the studio execs were wishy washy.

The first version was a pure villain who was explicitly selling the cows to be slaughtered for black market beef. The execs said, no, you can't do that, we have marketing deals with McDonalds in place.

So they decided to go full comedy. Slim is building an army of cows to storm the whitehouse and become president. Then execs said he has no threatening 9resence.

So in the end hes kinda just there.

My favorite part is when the main characters are bored to sleep by the song and literally check their watch to see how much time is being padded. I'm hoping they adapt The Lorax into a stage musical eventually and go full grimdark.

>>84288197
The storyboard was made by someone in the Tumblr fandom that used to exist. I'm weirdly nostalgic for that fandom. I used to think they'd actually get an early draft of the movie leaked, like the Scooby-Doo fandom did, but instead they just jerked off to the Once-Ler.

>>84287803
>>84287963
The tone, as a whole, was darker in the first draft. The film's directors wanted something light-hearted and fun, though. In the audio commentary, they use the term "ironic" to talk about their movie's tone.

Because it goes against the final draft of the movie, which was made corporate-friendly. The movie had fucking IHOP and Ford sponsorships, if they had a dark song about how many big companies operate solely in the interest of expansion regardless of consequences it would hurt their bottom line.

The final movie is pretty disgusting really.

Jafar may not have always been a genie, but I think the first movie implied he'd been studying sorcery pretty much his whole life. I recall being furious shortly after I watched this for the first time because I realized that a reprisal of this song from Hans during the scene where he goes full-on villain and locks Anna in the room to die would've been fantastic.

I can already hear how some of the lines in this would be turned on their head to be villainous, ending with:
>"Love is an open door, and this door...is closed."
Immediately followed by him slamming the door in time with the last note of the song. Such wasted potential.

Genie lost a lot of his powers and control over them when he gained his freedom, he says so when he comes back in the movie. Practice only gets you so far when the other guy quite literally has unlimited cosmic powers.

Plus magic isn't exactly new to Jafar, it's not unreasonable for him to have a greater than normal ability to use it then an average person put in the same position
>>

I don't hate the song it just sucks that like the epic sound doesn't have rad visuals to match. Like fucking skeletons and shit...no its bugs.
>>
>>84291963
Didn't the original kinda have that problem with the mysterious seemingly magical amulet, but it was easier to give a pass to because of it being an otherwise good movie?

Haven't seen the whole second one in a long time, but I thought the little lightening bolt he shoots from his staff in the song was just some Tesla levels of electrical fuckery.
>>
>>84292079
We could swing to the reverse problem with the Lion Guard.
>>
>>84291915
The only thing about this that is remotely bad is how jarring it is to go from Lloyd to Cummings and back just for the song. It's not like Lloyd could sing it remotely as well, though, so I guess this was the best option.
>>
>>84292097
ya they never really explain what was going on with Nicademous or the amulet. I always just assumed that the eldest of the Rats of NIMH had stumbled upon some otherworldly magic with their heightened intelligence
>>
>>84287855
That never happened.
>>
>>84292097
I thought the amulet was separate from the NIMH experiment stuff in the original so it was easier to separate the magic/science themes it had going on, while this sequel just connects all the weird shit to the institute.

But I guess that it could just be electricity. The whole dark wizard design for him doesn't help though.

My first thought was this is pretty good followed by its starting to get a little weaker but it could turn out good followed by wait what.

I'm auctualy conflicted on this main body was decent but I think maybe they should have gone with the same tone the whole way through both would have worked it can't have been an easy decision deciding which to go with.

I would definitely have gone with a less high pitched yodel though

I doubt they knew they were going to make him the villan when they wrote that so does it really count.

The original villan song was decentish but im still mad it beat out for the first time in forever for best original song.
I think let it go might just be a song a lot of people have one of there favourites but few had it as there outright favourite. So that ended up the biggest song because most at least liked it a bit where the other songs generaly are a person's favourite and you can never guess there other preferences based on that.

There are a lot of shady hints all through the song if you watch and listen closely.

But, yeah, I pretty much posted it here in the bad villain song thread because, strictly as a villain song, it can barely count but it's closest we got for the movie unless you want to interpret Elsa as the villain. Also like >>84291066 said, it is damn frustrating in hindsight that it never got a reprise. Okay song if considered entirely on its own, though.

In all seriousness I dont think it was REPLACED with it
they sound like Biggering would come after How Bad Can I Be. In HBCIB he mentions who cares if a few trees are dying, where in Biggering he says who cares of some things are dying, which kinda suggests he stopped caring about ANY life, trees included at that point
Biggering seems more like an evolution than am original
>>
>>84293405
>There are a lot of shady hints all through the song if you watch and listen closely.
Now that I'm looking for it your right its minor but it's there

Much more to it then that crap people spew about the scene with the chandelier being foreshadowing.

Interestingly there are both symbolic and more literal hints here it does seem a little like he planed for this and there's a lot of chasing and desperate grabbing.

Plus they ended up with her against a cliff.
>>
>>84293502
Well I suppose it's more accurate to say he seemed like he was just saying what she wanted to hear rather then that he planed for it all.

Oh, he planned it to a degree. It's just that his original plan was to woo the queen and he had to settle for the spare instead when Elsa turned out to be, well, an ice queen. It's pretty impressive he was so capable of thinking on his feet so well.
>>
>>84293743
Oh yeah he definintly planed it out I just felt he was saying what she wanted to hear was a more accurate summery of my thoughts
>>
>>84293502
>Plus they ended up with her against a cliff.

And there is my new thing that I never noticed before today.

Wow, if she had said no to his proposal it would have been so damn easy to push her off that cliff and say it was an accident, then hopefully pick up her mourning sister on the rebound.
>>
>>84293617
This kinda sounds like a random normie singing alone in his shower when he thinks no one can hear. This feels appropriate because it's about the quality of singing and songwriting I would expect from some guy making an animated film in his basement with few resources.

See what the fuck, "your powers of retention are... wet"? The concept of retention and wetness are only kind of related at best, but the metaphors here are just so fucked, it makes no sense. "In the dark of the night" is a fine song, nothing wrong with it. But holy fuck is the accompanying animation awful. The decrepit old man will not sit the fuck down, there's not a single moment where he and his million fucking bugs are not jumping and swinging their arms and kicking and spazzing out and going into frothing twitching epileptic fits. Movement is great and all, especially in a musical number, but it goes way the fuck overboard to the point of parody. I mean, even when he's putting on a wig and showing off his magic disguise he's still doing a little bounce, he just won't stop for even a fucking second.
