The first 3 issues are purely set-up that could have just been the backstory when the series already started.
But since then, and with the addition of Jupiter's Circle and SuperCrooks, it has become in total a nice little generational saga.

Once I was standing in line to see Jim Steranko at a con and I had a copy of Captain America Omnibus #1 for him to sign and Mark Millar breezes past and sees the cover and says "och noo, this is padraig" and before I could even understand what the fuck those noises were coming from he'd ripped it out of my hands and written MAЯK MILLAЯ all over the cover in sharpie. Then he opened it up and drew a little stick figure with Crossbones's head shooting Cap with his dick on the first page, then he threw it on the ground and I swear to god if I hadn't picked it up and run right then he'd have started pissing on it.
Still better than Kick-Ass. Overall I'd rate it about a 2/10.

Legacy will always be hampered by a slow start.
Circle played it right by doing focused vignettes and then the Skyfox focus of the second half was just great.

I dreaded reading the newer issues because I was expecting Millar to pull some shocking twist at the end, like the protagonist killed his wife and he retreated into a sci-fi world to hide from reality. But no, the twist was there wasn't one and it was a honest-to-god Flash Gordon story filtered through the Incredibles' sensibilities.
