Passing, throw-away entertainment. Personally, I rarely revisit something just for aesthetic reasons. There has to be something more there for it to cling on. It doesn't necessarily have to be something 'deep' or anything, but it has to have a substance to it.
This is just Afro-Samurai all over again. Fans of the style will gush over it for a bit, then it'll just fade out of relevance because there's nothing else to hook viewers except the style.

First of all there is actually some "lore" and morals if you will to Afro Samurai, the issue is the narrative can't focus on any of it too long or the viewer will realize not only is Afro a terrible person with a terrible personality but that just about anyone else would be more interesting to follow. Kuma for example.
I can't really prove it one way or the other but I get the feeling the mangaka was trying to replicate a character like Kenshiro or Guts but didn't realize while they generally meet their world with an appropriately strong silent type behavior both still have a wild, sarcastic and even soft side to them. There's subtle range to them that makes them interesting without being inconsistent. It requires a background, origin story and motive that go beyond just trauma induced revenge and more a worldly but world weary upbringing. Guts and Kenshiro have been around enough to have actual character, Afro's really just some asshole who sat around for a bit until fate came to him and then he started bringing trouble to other people. He does little to nothing for anyone and it starts to wear thin why the viewer should care about his plight over any other headband seeker.

I think my only gripe not so much with him but his sort, if you will, is they claim to want to prove action shows can work, they claim to be inspired by all these greats, they claim the industry is working against the genre due to just being cheap and while I don't disagree with these points and arguments the thing is they make all these claims and when they get the opportunity to prove everyone wrong or make a difference they prove them right. They make a show that is uninspired despite their inspirations. Instead of learning from predecessors, good or bad, they seem to sketch a stencil of the exact thing studios see as production poison and use as an example to deny ideas similar to it.
Why? I just don't understand. Not only am I confused how someone could watch all those great shows they always list and learn nothing from their presentation outside the action scenes, unless of course all they took from it were the action scenes, but why there seems to be this insurmountable chasm with action and drama where few action shows have decent or good writing and no drama will ever have any quality choreography.
Can't they just hire people who know what they're doing? Is there some sort of high school clique divide between the production teams behind these things that prevents them from bringing the best of both sides together and knowing how to avoid the worst?

Full animation on twos for 20 minute episodes with the drawing quality and animation complexity of anime is impossible. Even on threes is impossible.
Anime could already increase its framerate by reducing the quality of the drawings, but they've chosen not to do that because they value detail over framerate. And animation is not just about the framerate. If it was then you should always go for stick figures because that gives you the most frames.
