Ever since the new logo reveal, I've been focusing on the DC stuff I've been holding off on to avoid getting a mishmash of logos on the shelf. This should just about finish my currently in-print New-52 and DCYou purchases. Only thing missing is Valentine's second volume of Catwoman, which I'm getting next week and the first volume of DCYou Dr. Fate, which I've been on the fence about.
Hurr durr Batgirl and Black Canary yeah, yeah. I have two nieces and I'm the cool uncle with comics and cartoons they like to hang out with. Both are good young girl volumes.

June purchases are in the pic. Loved Northlanders, and this is my first time sitting down and reading the Animal-Man comics.

July purchases:
Deadly Class
Suicide Squad Silver-Age Omnibus
Shield Complete Collection Omnibus

That'll close out my budget for comics for the summer. I'll probably get the Showcase Presents The War That Time Forgot and the four Sgt. Rock volumes.
After that I'll have to start putting stuff on the Christmas List.

I'd say it's pretty damn good. But I like Woods from his work on Rebels, and I already have an interest in the Dark Ages, so your mileage may vary.

Still, they have a guy who's basically Ye Auld Irish Punisher, so those were a couple neat issues to read.

So this is what took 3 hours to get home on Thursday. But considering it all cost me only $120 I'm not gonna complain. Too much. Hell the Nocturnals HCs are worth it alone. And a near complete Usagi run? Gonna order the FB softcover set before the end of the week and at least have the furst 29 books complete with Senso. If I could only find Yokai for a decent price.

That bottom row is almost all random shit I didn't expect, as well as that giant ass Madman.

Got a friend into comics? Want to get a friend into comics? Pass them on to someone who might want them. What I do with all my books. Hell, that's officially my third copy of 300 above. Gonna give those to a friend. Same with the Fables Deluxe.
>>
>>84261368
What's your read pile now? Well over 100 books right?
>>
>>84261054
There's a box set for the Mouse Guard role playing game? What? When? What's in it? I must have!
>>
>>84261397
Probably. This was not a planned purchase. But I had to get the Usagi and Nocturnals books. For a little but more I got everything else. Right now This is about it other than the Usagi book and perhaps the two TMNT IDW HCs. After that I hope to not get anything else on the pile until I get some off.

I've tried to quell my purchasing but I just can't stop. I know I got issues and I'd rather just buy than fix them. At least I ain't living outside my means.

How many additional classic omnibus' is DC planning on doing for their "Silver Age" line? I know they're also starting a colored newspulp line like Marvel Epic Collection

They are? Because I would really like that. Especially for a Batman & The Outsiders/Outsiders 80s run.
>>
>>84265691
They are called _____: The ______ Age, like the Omnis. I believe that Superman Golden Age, Flash Silver Age, Justice League Silver Age, all have one out so far. I'm hoping that Wonder Woman, Doom Patrol, and Plastic Man get some.

Also they're only half as much as an epic collection in price, and are still fairly thick.

I was wondering the same thing. I'm guessing, but by judging from the artists listed on both on Amazon, they will both collect the first 20 issues or so.

>>84258309
Don't think IST will offer the book. At least, it isn't listed on their "Coming Soon" tab. I ordered mine through my local comic book shop. I'm still going to try to snag one at the San Diego Comic-con, though. If I get two, no prob. Just sit on them and sell when they hit the right value.

>>84258349
I had an issue once with a seller on Amazon. I emailed the seller. They promptly responded and ended up refunding me my money. They said I could do what I wanted to with the damaged book. It was an X-Force hardcover and it looked like it had been sitting out in the Death Valley sun baking for about a week then got dunked into a bucket of water.

just flipped through it a bit but it's gritty. If you ask the sci-fi and fantasy general on /lit/ about stuff that comes close to Berserk then they usually recommend Solomon Kane.
I have the short story collection by Howard on my shelf as well, haven't started reading it yet though. I also collect sci-fi/fantasy books and a bit of regular literature (which I invested my money into during the last 3 years instead of comics) so my backlog is just about 400 books right now.

Getting a shelf tomorrow.
You fuckers will bow to its majesty.

Is not that great. I'm just really pumped to have a shelf and get my books out of boxes.

Praise Manta unrelated

>>84282611
Any actual attempts at organization always fall down to book size and shelf space for me.

It'll be a cheap one so the omnis will have to hang out on the bottom.

I have such a mix of hc and tp that I'm hoping if I do publisher/size then alphabet the shelving won't warp

Thanks. Hopefully expanding soon with The Goon V.3, Abs.Sandman, Transmetroplitan, Watchmen and Vendetta, some deluxes and a whole bunch of other bits, plus the Hell on Earth series when it turns up.

It's finding the roughly £750 I need to get all this stuff that's the fun part.

OBJECTIVE BEST ORGANIZING METHOD COMING THROUGH
1) Categorize by publisher, A-Z
2) Categorize within publishers, by title A-Z
3) If collecting a superhero or team with many different titles/runs, organize by publication date.

What you do with height is up to you.
>>
>>84284427
I have more fun going by creator if I can, generally it doesn't work out that well.

I just go by artist. Otherwise it separates stuff in a way I don't like. I want my Paul Popes and my Gilbert Hernandezes to be together. It helps that the majority of the stuff I buy is made by one person.

>Once this comes in i'll donate the paperback to my library

Try finding a torrent of the 4 vol version of 52 online, it has the notes so you can read them along with the book. It's the only thing the new collected volumes are missing =/

Its like watching the commentary track for a movie only for a comic series, pretty great stuff.

You lucky shit....
>>
>>84284703
you realize all of those can be found online for purchase, right?
>>
>>84271790

10 bucks a tpb on IST, really not that expensive if you order online or get them used, assuming of course that those were purchased slowly over a long period of time

I'm in Canada, but to be honest I haven't looked into it, i just wish theyd collect the damn things or reprint the old paperbacks or SOMETHING... I'm not a big online orderer and even less so when it comes to eBay, I don't trust shipping especially when it rains 8 months a year here. (wet coast)

Just got Speedball 4 by Ditko.
Kirby New Gods 1984, the baxter paper reprint from when that was a big deal.
The Greatest Batman Stories Ever Told. Seriously why is that not in print. It has more rare and interesting work than that new Batman the greatest stories ever told collection.

>>
>>84273992
Right? Seems like an easy cash out. Everyone would be down for an Absolute Swamp Thing.
>>
>>84286137

not him but i can think of a few reasons... he may have picked them up as they came out, and prefers his huge block of awesome over trading them in for the newer versions

and if you're a person that commutes by public transit or reads on the go grabbing a small tpb is convenient

also not everyone wants a huge heavy book even if the library editions and the hardcovers of BPRD are very nice indeed.

Same story, different priorities
>>
>>84261054
Is Endtown good? What's the tone like?
>>
>>84286184

At this point im just hoping they collect it in fat paperbacks like the new editions of Doom Patrol and Sandman Mystery Theatre

I was very happy with the build of the book even though its obv just a glued binding, and while the paper is thin, the fact that it has a matte finish on it makes a huge difference.

New Frontier
>story revolving around original incarnation Golden Age and Silver Age heroes in period appropriate time dealing with the onset of the sixties. Great Timm-like artwork, period historical fun and high test Wonder Woman. Plus the edition I got has fifty pages of artwork and annotations denoting all the old forgotten characters and artistic shout-outs like characters drawn with Frazetta's face or panels done in a Kirby style.

Prophet vol. 2 and 3

So, /co/, I got a box full of superhero comics, and I never got into superhero comics and also I never buy issues, so I'm not sure how to approach it or even what is good. I can read some stuff online but I definitely prefer physical. What I got is:

X-Men: 1, 14-16, 25, 30, 246-250, 252-272, 274-301, 305-312, 390-391. Unlimited 1, Alpha 1 and The Asgardian Wars as well.
Wolverine: 11-13, 15-28, 30-50, 75.
Iron Man: 306-308, The Armor Wars (225-232), 310-313.
Excalibur: 12-74, 77, The Sword is Drawn, The Possession
Doom 2099 1-7, 11-20, 22-26
Ultimate Spider-Man Collection 1 (Issues 1-7)
Ultimate Galaxus 1 (Ultimate Nightmare 1-5), 3 (Ultimate Extinction 1-5), The Ultimates 2 13
Supreme Power 1-2 (Missing 3-5)
Robo-Cop Versus Terminator 1-4
The Terminator Endgame 1-3
Lobo The Mask 1-2

Also the top row is a bunch of Norwegian ones, it's quite cringey and you can basically ignore it. Also the publishing is even more confusing than the original. Anything you would recommend? I've read Nextwave, seen most modern superhero movies, and that's about it for my superhero exposure.

Unfortunately yeah, but I had a job in high school and saved them up over quite a while, buying like once a month. At this point in my descent into comics, I was only buying Dark Horse Star Wars and Mignolaverse and reading the rest at the library.

>>84286137
Multiple reasons. Amassed most of them before the Library Editions were a thing, plus i prefer the feel of trades. They're very easy to throw into a bag and reread. Plus, it looks fucking amazing having so many books with matching spines (off topic, one reason why I hate Dark Horse suddenly changing their spines). I also find it much easier to find specific scenes because I've basically memorized where each story is.

>>84284778
>>84284806
Yeah unfortunately I'm Canadian so not quite as lucky on prices. But Hellboy was one of the first comics I really loved and that showed me the potential of the medium beyond the big 2, so I don't regret the cost one bit.

Your Excalibur collection starts an issue before the best arc and goes all the way through to the end of Claremont & Davis (which OP's omni probably wont)
I'm jelly
Plus nothing Earth-shattering happened in those first few issues so you're not missing out on much (unless you're really really invested in learning Claremont's fetishes)

anyone know if you can get free shipping on cheapgraphicnovels.com or if you can get instock trades to price match
>>
>>84302651
http://www.cheapgraphicnovels.com/first-time-shoppers-faq.html
>Shipping is via USPS Media Mail at a flat-rate of $7.99….flat rate means you pay the same low $7.99 shipping amount no matter how many books you purchase, so order a lot! Most orders are shipped our within three to four days (this may be longer during busier weeks and is not a guarantee) and will generally take 2-10 business days after we ship out to reach you, depending on your location (we are in California). All orders come with delivery confirmation.

That sounds like a no.
