i know i'd have a lot more respect for the primitive tribal folks of the modern day if they were more badass and barbarianesque instead of just a bunch of starving little guys without metalworking.
in any case i love this genre every so often, i get into moods, but they don't last. i think it's because there isnt much depth to it. it needs to be part of a larger fantasy thing so when i get out of the barbarian mood i can just nerd it up with some wizards for a while

Love me some Conan. My uncle lent me a collection of the old stories and I've been on the Darkhorse comics ever since. He also lent me the books of Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser and the 90's comic mini-series drawn by Mike Mignola.
Conan v1 (Dark Horse) is one of the best comics ever made.
Been on a Burroughs kick that led to me buying Warlord. I'm planning on diving into it after finishing Pellucidar, assuming I don't get sucked into more Tarzan first. I've also been thinking about picking up some Kamandi, all I've read are a couple back issues I picked up out of state at a comic shop much better stocked than my LCS.

Design's preference is matter of personal taste Battlecat had different redesigns through the various incarnations of He-Man. The more classic is the one portrayed already. Personally i like it most, beacuse it's the most firerce one. Then there is the 200X sabertooth design.
