Its ranges from average to enjoyable. Main problem is that the current writer loves foreshadowing events like 15+ issues in advance, and each time it has happened some out side bullshit comes in and screws everything up. We've had a Anniversary mini arc, megaman crossover, a fucking reboot, and another megaman crossover, and a several month delay have shitted all over the pacing of the comic.
Sonic Universe the side series that focuses on characters other than Sonic has been consistently good since it started and is home to some of the best comics by the current writer.

Sega has a strict "No fucking with Game Characters" rule. That's one of the reasons (but not the main reason) Sega asked Archie to reboot the universe.
