As far as I can tell, the game is made with (or was converted to) OpenFL, which is kind of like Flash. I think there's a script that tells how all the bits are supposed to move to make each animated sprite. Meaning you don't need full-body sheets anymore. I don't know that much about making games though, so I could be wrong. I wanna see if I can turn them into gifs

The animation was really good, though the MC is a crybaby and his rival is a egocentric maniac.
The weirdest part was that the MC is drawn "too pure" much a la digimon tamer childish with gigant hands, while pretty much all the girls are drawn toi grown! (With Jackie body build or even more pronounced).
At least the battles were pretty good.
