What, is he going to breathe in the bullets?
>>
>>83983230

I fucking hope not.
>>
Is this seriously all it took to get you guys to like Marx? By giving him a fursona??
>>
>>83984473
the main complaint with Marx is he doesn't fit in the story

giving him a fursona is a step in the right direction
>>
>>83984473

What the hell are you on about, you spaz? First of all - he's not appearing out of nowhere all "OH BLIMEY! TIME FOR SOME MAGICAL BOLLOCKS" like a damn Doctor rip-off. Second of all instead of just wishing all the bad things that have been chasing Doc and Holly away he does he things like any person without power would do - through wit and bravery on the verge of stupidity. And lasty despite his talks of greater good and silly things like the whole Simon says thing. He's not annoying spouting rubbish in the face of danger.

It's not a matter of fursona, it's a matter of him actually having a personality that doesn't want us to jump off a high building.
>>
>>83984473
I never say that I like him, he's only bearable because he didn't have a shitty personality.
>>
>>83981831
>character is unharmed but in peril in the last panel on a page
>that means he's doomed

It's like you've never read a comic in your life.
>>
>>83984473

I still don't like him.
>>
>>83984791
>Endtown
>Implying that anyone will survive
>Let alone a no-name mutant tackling flying guns

It's like you've never read Endtown before.
>>
>>83984880
Remember that we are talking about Marx here
>>
>>83980665
Resourceful. But yeah, unless those things are some sci-fi gun with a low sonic profile that can't be good, especially for sensitive anthro ears.

I'm gonna say he'll be captured and we'll see him later, vivisected or something.
>>
>>83985151

That would be brutal, perfect.

"except for the annoying things he said, he's not spouting annoying things!"

gonna have to agree with >>83985998 mate, there is really nothing different about furry Marx except his subtly and the fur.

> except he literally did, just in time to save Holly and Doc from being spotted

I'll give him the benefit of a doubt here. This is a retrospect and outside of Doc, I don't think Marx would've cared for Holly surviving given her lack of good skills.

> he's being subtle, obviously

Instead of loud, obnoxious and annoying with ditto pens, swallowing explosions, reading books in eldritch languages and waving his dimensionmeter like walnut on a string.

>>83986124
If that's the case he's certainly not breaking the guise of being scared out of his knickers while saying that. Fox aside this is the incarnation of Marx that is acceptable. The Marx in the free energy dimension is also acceptable when he realises how badly he screwed everything up and drops his whimsical persona.

He's a magical walking plot device.

He could get shot in the head and still survive.
>>
>>83987219
Nah, after that whole bit about the Greater Good, I'm fully expecting him to die. He knows he's going to die.

The real question is, what Marx is he excactly? Is he some marx that got caught at the wrong spot at the wrong time and turned into a fox?
Is he the actual marx of this reality, and the other marxes told him the part he has to play?
>>
>>83987385
He's the Marxoriginating from the Endtown universe we know
The Marx we know and hate is Marx Prime. All other Marxes revolve around him.
>>
>>83987559
>All other Marxes revolve around him.
If this turns out to be the case, can't help but wonder how much they all know about each other, and how they feel about each other and especially Marx Prime.
>>
>>83987689
Given how different Marxes interact with the characters I said that at least they're organizated and everyone know their part. It will be fun If Marx prime died and the other Marxes would have to fight to see who will take his place.
>>
>>83987901
>It will be fun If Marx prime died
You had me at that bit.
>>
>>83984473
And by removing all the smug, the marty stu features, the deus ex machina abilities and the carefree attitude in the face of what should be certain doom.

Basically, by removing everything that made people hate Marx in the first place you get a character that people actually like. Who fucking would have thought?
>>
>>83986643
>Bowtie
>Coat
Fucking everyone has that. Also hats. It's part of the early-mid 20th century vibe Aaron aimed for.

Only valid arguments are his unusual lines and maybe the cigar.

>I'm going to be really disappointed if the answer to how they got to Endtown is going to be "it was Marx"
Well, if you start thinking it almost all the things that happen in the comic are because Marx.
>>
>>83989348
Endtown /exists/ thanks to Marx. He and Flask essentially built it.
>>
>>83990225
In a parallel, time-shifted universe. Likely something similar happened in the main universe, but we don't know for sure.
>>
>Marx feels guilty for causing either directly or indirectly the "virus"

>seeds Endtown to feel better
>>
>>83990297
It's established that ALL the endtowns were built by him or at least he helped to build it.
>>
>>83990358
Citation? Was that in an email?
>>
>>83987385
If he can pull a lit cigar from the lit cigar dimension why wouldn't he be able to do more stuff like that? He's just being subtle with his meddling this time.
>>
>>83980665
The date in the title has the wrong format.
>>
>>83990492
I think that yes it was in a email, but there's also a little of logic here: who build the bunkers that later were used as colonies? the government? impossible why they would let mutants in, Mallard? He was an Apex scientific but not that rich to build a bunker of that size. Those bunkers were built with mutants in mind, with mere purpose serving as a base for them, and whatever plans Marx has those involves the mutants so he needs them to be alive, what better than a secret bunker underground to survive?
>>
>>83990779
Well like I said, it's likely that's the case but I won't consider if confirmed unless I see it in the strip or that email.

Pedophilia. And naked lizard women.

All seriousness, it would be writing, dedication to the comic, and money. I doubt Aaron could help as much as he would want to with writing since he also has to manage the comic.

Plus I don't think pixel art does Endtown any good. Should be 2D cartoon art, maybe something like Puzzle Agent or Darkest Dungeon.
>>
>>83994316

> Puzzle agent

Fuck yeah I loved the first game. Second game kinda sucked at the end. That would've been an interesting thing too with Endtown characters and limited animation. Alternatively you could try something as robust as Curse of Monkey Island but good luck finding good animators for that.

>>83994235

I needed to take care of my father after a stroke. I intend to revisit that stuff at some point. And despite being a fan of Aaron's comic I doubt I would make a storyline good enough for Endtown.
>>
>>83994390
You could always make it a sort of survival game a la Don't Starve, maybe in a different colony so that it's not just dust for miles.
Hell, maybe someone could make Endtown characters for Don't Starve.
>>
>>83994457

Don't Starve character modding would be simple with Aaron's style. All you need is bits and pieces for expressions and I believe running/walking anim bits.
>>
>>83994316
>>83994235
>>83994227

I tried learning AGDK to make one, eventually I figured to just make an rpg book.

But it's not like impossible, it would just take cooperation and planning.

Kazen is moving on up in this world!

General anthros look plain ugly in 3D unless done well, and even then they still look off, and it'd be in a style that's not close at all to Aaron's.

Well, Wally HATED Hillside. It's only fair that he isn't bothered to see it gone. Plus he's been up top for years

Holly had a home there, with a life and a family. She hasn't been up top nearly as long as Wally, so she isn't used to it. Plus, it'd be jarring to come across an old shop or street from your past, only it's now gigantic because you are so much shorter. Aaron kinda asked for it by making mutants have those animal parts. Seriously, what the fuck is up with that?

I guess it's to explain why some of them can lay eggs but if it works by cartoon "logic" anyway why was that necessary? It seems sadistic more than anything.

Some people respect the characters too much for that.

Same reason why there's not much Bagi porn despite her popularity.
>>
>>84005094

I fail to see how is it disrespectful, i appreciate the characters for being very well written primarily, if anything it actually helps... poorly written characters and bland characters on the other hand, are a total turn off for me, Katia from prequel being the best example, everyone in co wets himself for her, but i honestly dislike her for being nothing more that fapbait.
>>
>>84005159

That's like, your opinion, man. One that you throw around a lot.

It was just a template and he made one for a random argonian before. He wasn't pushing the fans do anything they hadn't done before either. It's just a way of saying "I'm okay with it".

You do know Aaron is okay with "it" too, right? Does that make Endtown a fapbait comic?
>>
>>84005320
>It's just a way of saying "I'm okay with it".

i though he said "He wanted to keep things interactive", also it would be extremely hypocritical of him to not be "ok" with that crap, since his character is literally a slut who masturbated with a pineapple in public.

>You do know Aaron is okay with "it" too, right? Does that make Endtown a fapbait comic?

of course not... not because he's ok with lewds, endtown automatically becomes a fapbait comic. as long as he doesn't start pushing lewd shit into his comic to get more readers, then no...
>>
>>84005445
Thing is, Kaz is a twentysomething guy and he's a product of a very different generation than Aaron, who is fortysomething. Things like "fapbait" matter to him like they matter to your dad.
>>
>>84005311

>people fapped sw characters into this...

i better stop
>>
>>84005531

i have nothing against kaz, if anything i admire the way he managed to get that amount of money for his merch, fapbait or waifubait may not mean anything to him, but let's not pretend he doesn't exploit that and that all his readers are in it for a "well crafted story with deep lore and exiting adventures"... he knows very well that at least a big majority of his readers are in it just for Katia... that boob contest is a good example of this.
>>
>>84005532
does it still count as fapping if it's an exec rubbing his hands together thinking about profits to the point of orgasm?
>>
>>84005445
>it would be extremely hypocritical of him to not be "ok" with that crap, since his character is literally a slut who masturbated with a pineapple in public
But that isn't put in a good light in the comic. The whole point is that it is one of Katia's many fuck ups, a major one at that.

>as long as he doesn't start pushing lewd shit into his comic to get more readers
If the readers truly had it their way the comic would've had Katia scissoring QW as soon as they met.

Be honest, you don't care about the comic enough to actually understand what's going on. It's fine if you don't like it but if you trully don't know about it then don't talk like you do.

>>84005637
>contest
Again, just admit that you don't like it simply because you don't. Making up half-assed slander speaks bad about you, not Kaz. The comic and the author have genuine problems, you don't need to spew bullshit for people to dislike what they see or to like it.

People like and dislike different things, deal with it.

It's just bizarre to be "correct" on that thing specifically.
>>
>>84006942

Didn't Aaron himself said they do have anatomically correct parts?, if jim does it safe to asume wally does too, hell im pretty sure kirbee has cloaca to lay those eggs.

>Linda having a tail

while koalas don't have tails, they are usually depicted in cartoons as having a round fluffy ones... i don't think this has anything to do with anatomically correct mutation etcetc
>>
>>84007081
I'm not arguing that it isn't a fact, I'm just saying that it's weird. Specially because the mutations follow cartoon tropes on everything but that. I'm just trying to make sense of it, looking for a reason that isn't "Aaron gets a kick out of it".

Yeah, Aaron kind of went with a concept of 'cartoon logic' to gloss over anatomical details he didn't know. We talked alot to work out details on what an anthro mutant is, what they do, and how they compare to a normal person.

I think the best way to put it is that an anthro has a human central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract, so they can be sapient and eat chocolate and such, but have some internal deformations as a by product of animal DNA to parts of the brain, skeletal and epidermal features, and sensory organs.

But really it's just sweeping aside the weird fun stuff so the concept doesn't ruin the story. Aaron didn't want to go full yinglets
