This fall, a series of LEGO shorts featuring the original talent from Frozen will debut on Disney Channel. According to reports, there will be four new shorts in total.

Because they want to sell more Lego figurines and playsets. That's it. Money.
With the original Disney style, some girls maybe want the doll that looks like the characters in the movie and feel that the Lego characters look too different. But now, there will be official Frozen shorts where the characters look EXACTLY like the Lego merch. Even if they already have 2 Anna and 3 Elsa dolls in the normal style, now there's a reason to buy the whole cast over once again, this time in Lego figurines!
Also maybe they think that Lego figurines will be more accessible to boys as well, so they can sell even more merch.
But yeah, they changed the entire cast into Lego for their new official content in order to sell more merch. The new shorts are essentially toy advertisements that also serve to keep Frozen relevant and in the minds of the public, while waiting for the hardcore hype machine for the properly animated Holiday Special and Frozen 2 to start.
