Teen Titans was on my top 3 pull list when Rebirth was announced, along with Green Arrow and Supergirl. It'll help that they switched editors as well. This might be the first good Teen Titans book in decades.

The best way to bring back the teen titans would be to start over with a completely new team of original characters. No crossover and no fans bitching when a character hurts another character's feelings or cheats on a partner etc.

And Johns wanted to be the one who introduced him a long time ago before being taken off the book so Abnett is most likely just in on Johns' plans, like he is with Titans.

If you've read the little snippets that Percy wrote from Damian's perspective (about the Teen Titans), then it's clear he's only doing this to lead them. He has no interest in just "being a member" a la Bruce with JL and Dick with the Titans.
He's doing what they couldn't do and being the only Bat-family member to officially (not de-facto, but officially and unanimously) lead a ragtag group.
