Yes, Cyclops is the most important and no other character is useful to the X-Men or fighting for the cause, you've only said that 200 times Marvel, Jesus fucking Christ.
Axel Alonso is on the record as saying Cyclops and Deadpool are the only XX-Me characters that really interested him before he was handed control of the property.
Cyclops was the Inhumans before the Inhumans happened...an extremely pushed character at the expense of all else. It's just too bad he's not actually dead.
As for these covers, the Quire one is by far the best of the ones we've seen because there is an actual concept there.
