I think most of the Padipica shippers didn't even need that much. I would have been OK with just a few appearances where she no longer acts like an ass towards Mabel and Dipper. Just to show us her personal growth stuck. Maybe an episode where she's trying to help Dipper finally get over Wendy with an ulterior motive of catching him on the rebound followed by a getting together and a date episode. That would have been more than enough. Only the most hardcore bastards wanted her to become Dipper's on screen GF and a part of the core group.

Pacifica gets captured by the Gnomes to be made the new Gnome-queen.
Pacifica's disappearance causes her parents to freak out, they talk to the police, start offering rewards and such.
Dipper finds out she disappeared and upon remembering what happened in NMM and how she helped save him, he (and his dick) feels compelled to go investigating to find her.
Dipper eventually finds and rescues Pacifica with his wit after a lot of fun little detective-y sequences that show Dipper actually collecting evidence and asking people questions, using what he knows about the town to find out where she could have gone.
Mabel does not appear in this episode because she's garbage.

Wendy never really needed any. She's the coolest cat around. Her big epiphanies were that Robbie is an asshole and that Dipper pines for here, she handles both accordingly. The only instance we saw of her acting a bit uncool is when she was angry at Tambry for getting together with Robbie, her ex. But she immediately forgave her and was happy for them when she saw that they clicked. Wendy doesn't need to change, Wendy is awesome.
The best we could have gotten is maybe her thinking about leaving this small dull town and then either deciding to stay or going trough with it.

That's what Wendy was at the end of the day. Remember when Alex was doing that behind the scenes interview with Time Baby? All the other characters got like two minutes of description, but Wendy only got like two sentences. Like Pacifica, she was never meant to have a large role, and I remember in season 1 there were episodes where she was noticeably absent because the writers didn't know what to do with her (like when the whole gang, sans Wendy went to go save Waddles from the Dinosaurs.)
