Anyway, that's a bit different. So far, only the Red Blue Lions have shown off any real special intrinsic powers. Yellow is STRONK, but that's not as visually impressive. Green can go invisible, but that was added in. Black is supposedly the best combat-wise, but we've only really seen a mouth dagger that I think the Red one has shown too.
On top of the Red Lion's melting beam, it also got a huge back cannon in the finale. One assumes the other Lions can also manifest special weapons besides just shooting a different beam out of their mouths. The other Lions could really use some combat focus.

There's been a bunch of fascinating articles about the CW's business acumen in the wake of their blanket renewal of everything. Golion is a fun watch, but Voltron aged like milk. Voltron's editing is almost unbearable to the senses. The episodes after Golion's are actually a bit better because despite the bad animation, the stories are consistent because they aren't changing everything for kids.

Yea Limitless ended but I feel they knew they'd likely not get another season the way they wrapped it up. But I did like it. Closest thing to Psych I've enjoyed in a while. Aside from Rush Hour which they also canned.

Go back and watch Life. It's a show starring her and Damien Lewis from Homeland/Band of Brothers, it's another show like Limitless that elevates the procedural into something genuinely good.
Just finished all the episodes 10 minutes ago. The plot twist with Pidge was pretty good, and the Fight scene with Sendak was probably the best scene so far.

Getting my Archive of Our Own account approved in 2 days, I'll have four or five stories up. Three Shiro X Pidge ones, a Lance X Pidge one, and possibly a R63 story with Allura and a to be determined boy.
Also should I watch Voltron Force? Somebody requested a crossover of Legendary Defender and Force, I'm already pretty far in the original Voltron series though.

Don't know about the general consensus, but I know I'll keep watching, if for nothing else than the character designs.
The show certainly isn't going to push any standards for quality writing. It is keeping it simple with plots that resolve quickly, the most basic dialogue needed, and stuff that it just makes up on the spot whenever it is convenient. Much like cartoons from the time of the original Voltron.
Even then, I think it got a little better about that after the first couple of episodes.

american remakes of originally merely-dubbed things are so weird. it's weird enough when you have american (or more often british) sequels to japanese games, especially if the japanese series picks up again later, but it's REALLY odd when you make a totally new tv show based on the story of an adaptation. speed racer comes to mind, it's had more than a few.. the most recent being the equivalent of 'superman returns' being definitely a direct sequel to an adaptation, trying to look like "it's more of that, it's the past again, really!"
So how is Voltron force? Worth watching or no? I didn't really watch any of it or gain interest when it came out but now I'm curious. I'm already going to check out the original.
I got confused with a lot of the villains and it was hard for me to remember their faces sometimes.
