>all this talk about legacy in DC comics
>still now Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen Rebirth title announced
How can DC fuck up this badly?
He's dead now, thanks to your Lord and Saviour, Zack Snyder.

I'm talking about comics, not movies. Go back to /tv/.
>>83775496
>even thinking this post would be applicable in this thread
movies were a mistake

What do you do with a Superman's Pal book when Superman isn't around?
>>83775587
Become a New God
>>83775587
assorted wacky shit that doesn't involve Superman level threats, obviously
>>83775587
You go to an alt universe where Superman IS around and you do some extra fun shit.

The only alternate Jimmy we've seen so far didn't turn out so well.
>>83776134
Was Bizarro that bad? I didn't read it because I can't tolerate Bizzarospeak more than like one issue.
>>83775587
Honestly Jimmy Olsen is pretty hardcore when Kirby is writing him.
>gets a super car and beats a motorcycle gang in a streetrace
>>83776331
He was always hardcore.
>>83775450
Nick Spencer wrote some pretty great backups during Cornell's Action Comics. I wanted new Superman to be about Jimmy Olsen.
Except for Kirby's run, is the rest of Superman's pal Jimmy Olsen worth checking out?
>>83777330
There's some fun stories worth glancing through.
No idea about the Lois Lane ongoing though. That always looked like shit

There's a trade compilation of Superman's Pals that entertaining and interesting. It's not scanned and no signs that it's digital. I read my copy from my local library.
The title is something like "Amazing Transformations of Jimmy Olsen"
>>83777310
Yes, those were great and need to be collected.
>>83775450
>now
This was supposed to "NO," I presume?
>>83775922
An Elseworld mini would be nice.
>>83777330
Depends on what you like
They can be pretty fun . As good as kirby's run is it misses the part of olsen's character where he is a lovable loser with delusions of grandeur
I'd read the shit out of a crazy ass modern Jimmy adventures book. Put a guillotine vote at the end of every issue where people say yay or nay, if people hate it they get a new writer who has to top the last story. Just keep cycling in new talent and blow canon out the book's ass. Most of the really creative and interesting material in the dcu is from Kirby's run on Jimmy Olsen, a Jimmy book should be as necessary at DC as the Superman and Batman books. For good luck.

I feel like most writers wouldn't be able to do it without excessive irony (ex: gee weren't those silver age comics so stupid)
Which kind of misses the point

>He was always hardcore
