>Start reading this
>Wolverine is talking on a payphone
>He sees a human girl is being harassed by mutants
>He starts walking
>The scene cuts to a daytime scene
>Cuts like this happen throughout the book
Is the pacing fucked in this book or is it just me? And is House of M good? I'm having a hard time seeing it

"Event" books are almost always nightmarishly bad because of things like pacing. They have to cover what every single player in the event is doing, which usually means you'll get four or five panels for a single scene, then transition to something completely unrelated.

It's not you, it's the book. It's bad.
>>83691236
It's a Bendis book
>>83691236
It is good, you just gotta read the related books
>>83691236
it is a good story actually. the consequences were terrible for the x-men franchise, and it did a character assasination on the Scarlet Witch, but it isnt a bad story at all, unlike most events.
>>83691236
I hope you're not a scarlet witch fan OP
>>83691236
read flashpoint and pretend they're marvel characters
>>83693239
This. It's X-Men 9/11 and the jews did it.
>>83693312
Are you talking about the event or the tie in to secret wars?
I didn't read the tie in and I have read the event in years so I can't tell by your description.

>He hated the idea of Wand and the Vision having a happy life (since he thought it was "unnatural" that someone would get to marry a robot)
What the FUCK
>>83691236
if this is the secret wars tie in then it is mediocre. the event was good.
>>83693239
>it is a good story actually.
No it wasn't. But it is the best Bendis-written event in retrospect.

House of M (2005) #1-8

>John Bryne
>a guy who has been never married
I think he hates more than robot marriages
>>83693690
>>a guy who has been never married
Actually, Byrne was married in the 80's. Then he got divorced somewhere in the early 90's.

In a way, the last Marvel big event (Secret Wars) and the last Avengers crossover (Pleasant Hills, the Kubik girl one) are rehashes/rip offs of House of M. It is the most influential thing Bendis wrote.
Omnipotent being rewrites reality, heroes are thefew humans who notice reality is wrong, and fight to change it back to how it was before.
To op, it is worth reading, much better than most Marvel events.
>>83691236
It's not good compared to the 80's but it's pretty decent for nu-Marvel.
>>83693747
>It is the most influential thing Bendis wrote.
This is true but it doesn't make it good. Sort of like how Civil War is the most influential thing Millar wrote but it really doesn't hold up well as a story.
>>83693411
That's what makes this so fucking satisfying.
Infinity War is going to undo everything Byrne and Bendis did...it's going to be glorious.

His wife left him for atoaster.
>Gambit on a cover
Man, it is so weird to see him on a cover since he has been out of the spotlight for so long.
