Hey Arnold thread because why not?

Sometimes i think that the Jolly-olly man raped Harold and he hides behind his traumatized personality with aggression and over-eating

Watching Das Subway. The conductor is the worst thing ever holy shit. Like... it's OK to freak out, but to take the passengers down with you, jeez.
Also, gotta love the trope of the pseudo psychologist.

This show was so incredibly fucked up, and I never realized it until I tried to watch it again. For nostalgia value last year and couldn't get past first two eps.
>What did I tell you, short man?

Between Orpheus and DikeKike, we've amassed memes for centuries. Memes that not even The Sewer King could plunder!
helga had a rough life
Was Stinky really a vampire in the end? Were Arnold and his friends really hanging out with an unholy abomination from hell?
As a kid watching the episode where Arnold helps Mr. Hyunh find his daughter, I never appreciated the depth in the story. The Vietnam reference and the flashback scene where Hyunh's daughter is flown out on the last helicopter out of Saigon. That was fantastic and was lost on me when I had no idea about the Vietnam War and thought it was something made up for the show.

BUNNY
Who was best girl?
>>83659538
Lulu
>>83656035
the show itself dealt with a lot of serious/mature topics. that doesn't mean it was bad.
I know who Curly grew up to be:
>>83659538
I had a crush on rhonda as a kid
>>83651276
It's really a shame how they ended the show, really, thinking back, the show's a hell of a lot more relevant now, and a lot of kids might actually benefit from watching this show.
>>83656100
Yeah, that Vietnam episode was really something.
>>83651463
That's just cruel and wrong, man.
>>83661597
same
I saw your face and wow!
>>83662499
But theres gonna be a TV movie in 2017 to properly close the series.
>>83659735
Is that bizarro Lila? Because if she is then you are objectively right.
>>83660055
>implying he didn't end up shooting up the school and then killing himself
>>83658485
I just realized Gerald is completely unfazed by what's being taught.
>>83665071
Experience?
Holy shit this episode made me so mad when I watched it as a kid.It literally serves no purpose but being mean to Arnold and make him go through hell for free. I legit wanted to punch Stinky and Sid.
Would have loved to have seen more art from this guy.

she looks like a monkey

When didn't she?

Even though the show was a cartoon on Nickelodeon, it felt quite "real" and more grounded than some of their other stuff. And that's because a lot of the characters, despite being caricatures for the sake of a cartoon, had some basis in reality. You can imagine a person like this existing and probably does based on the creators experience with people. Not to mention a lot of the more adult things you wouldn't pick up on as a kid.
>>83659538
Helga
>>83663697
Yeah, Lulu is bizarro Lila.
>"I'm sure you'd like to go for just an ever so private swim."
>>83666367
I don't understand the hate fot it. Sure they were mean to Arnold but the episode itself was entertaining
>>83651659
Movies would be so weird without music in them. That's so fucking cool though. I can't wait for it. It's weird how everyone in a Hey Arnold thread looked over this post though, or didn't think it was cool enough to reply to.
>>83671552
It's kind of an old link. 4 years. Animation looks pretty boss though.
I miss Helga.
>>83672930
Well animation does take a long time. Surely they're done with it by now, and are finishing up everything else. It's crazy to think new Hey Arnold content is coming. Hope they don't fuck it up.
>>83673271
I will actually say the opposite: this movie will be better than the one we would have gotten had it never been canned.
Craig has had 10+ years to let the idea cook, and he WANTS to do it. Nickelodeon isn't forcing him. Plus he's getting all the original cast to do the voices and the original staff like Jim Lang.
I'm very positive it will deliver. The kind of writing in HA was just next level, and there are some truly talented people behind it.
>>83673824
Wait, he's getting the entire original cast? How is that gonna work? The voice actors for the main three characters were legit kids when the show was made.
Yeah, completely. I guess it's just a bit of a nervous thing. I mean, this is a show that none of the people watching Nick these days will have seen unless they seeked it out on one of Nick's reject networks. It's obviously gonna be a love letter to adults who loved the show when they were kids, and how many people are actually gonna tune in for that is hard to tell. I hope it's successful.
>>83673062
I do too. Can't wait for the Jungle Movie.

>>83675250
But she isn't, she might be a snob but isn't afraid to get dirty or hang with poor people.
>>83674364
Maybe theyll start doing reruns as the movie approaches.
>>83665899
Then why's Phoebe blushing?
>>83675638
Gerald probably has like 3 kids with his side hoes
>>83674664
I never believe hela was beautiful.
>>83671185
For all the shit AGU gets for characters not acting their age, Hey Arnold is just as guilty, though it is a far better show.
How is anyone in this supposed to be a 9 year old?
>>83674364
Here's hoping.
>>83677654
I disagree. Only Arnold and arguably Gerald don't act like 9 year olds.
>>83678137
Have to disagree, Helga strikes me as most mature, Arnold probably second.
Given their homelifes, it's almost understandable.
>>83678890
Yeah, but Helga doesn't know how to express her feelings and is a brat a lot of the time. Consistent with a 9 year old.
>>83665071
>>83665899
Maybe he's all heard it before.
>>83677654
Harold actually acts kind of immature for his age.
what's his name /co/?
>>83651276
>Be on a fishing boat the past 6 months.
>Get home last night.
>Hop into HA thread.
>Find out TJB movie is happening.
>>83678116
Sid has a beard?
>>83677654
I've long held the belief that you could double the grade levels of all the kids and nothing would change.
>>83682580
Harold IS immature for his age. He's 13 in a class of 9 year olds.
