I read the books. At the end of the series, the main bat (shade) from Silverwing has a kid. He and his girlfriend get into a fucking mess that Shade told them to stay out of. Then Shade has to die to save his son and his gf.
Then at the end he's a ghostbat watching his family grow up on the other side. Never have I been so mad in my life.
