I totally agree. The situations before this felt trivial, and felt like shonen jump fillers. They were interesting settings and scenarios, but overall I don't think those are the stories the readers were looking for when they got into Abe Sapien. We wanted Abe's story. He went to Saint-Sebastien. Where, as anons here have already informed me, Abe met a being much like the one inhabiting him. After the events of that arc it was always hinted at, and the first character to actually go back and check it out was the Necromancer. Then this shit happens. It's a huge turn of events. With this he became Abe's rival.
Most probably left-right hand rivalry. Basicly if Abe wins against him, we get the good ending, as far as I'm understanding, but I was the guy that was going OANNES IS IN ABE'S BODY HURRFUCKINGDURR AINT IT OBVIOUS GUYS. So, no need to always listen to me.
Odd thing is, in this issue we learnt that Abe's 'spirit' is unique, and had to go through a very specific tragedy to be created. Why are there two? We do not know, and we have two issues to find out.

The surface is destroyed, but the surviving humans go to the hollow Earth, under the rule of Frankstein. From England the new world is born, with a new race of humans related to Abe somehow, but I'm not sure exactly how he will do it seems far beyond his power level.

All that the frog people do, all that they desire is to bring back the Ogdru Hem. Just it.

I believe that turning people into frogs must Costa some kind of power and energy for the Ogdru, but the exchange is fine becaus they exist to free others of the same kind. But once they die, they are "recycled" and their fraction of power is absorved back by the Ogdru.
Then Ogdru don't see these humans as the new dominant race, they are just slaves to their will to free them, and once free, are absorved to gather power.
