Now that DCU rebirth is out, are the before watchmen comics worth reading? I read Watchmen and loved it, but would reading these non-Moore comics ruin anything for me? Which ones are bad reads and which are good?
Read the Cooke ones. Ignore the rest.

I only read the Nite Owl and the Rorschach one, they were utterly forgettable and added nothing of note to the characters. The Ozymandias one has gorgeous art, at least. And yeah, maybe the ones by Darwyn Cooke are good, I wouldn't know.

As someone who doesn't think the originals are everything the critics and fans say they are, I enjoyed the Cooke/Connor and Straczynski books, didn't try the Wen/Azz. If what you want is just "more stuff in the world and characters of Watchmen," it's good stuff. If you want something saying something new about comics or superheroes, they're not that deep.
