I am amused that the GL issues that sold the most out of the sale were the recent ones with hobo Hal instead of the older ones with Baz actually in them
>>
I'm surprised old man Logan is that high and that batman beyond outsold justice league.

Even if it is a week older it's fucking justice league and Batman Beyond is about a version of the worst Robin from an event no one cares about dicking around in a future kind of like one from a cartoon canceled 15 years ago
>>
>Civil War 2
>5.99$

What the fuck, in my country comics are 80 pages and are several floppies.
For example, if I buy Spider-Man, I will have Amazing Spider-Man , Spidey, 2099 and the Spider-Man.
It cost 8 euros I think.
>>
>>83568248
How many floppies are there in those 80-page giants?

>>83567905
So what? Marvel gave copies like that and many more through lootcrates and similar services and they still count.
I think that it would be better if they removed that from the sales, since it's more of an indirect sale.

If he can, however, it'll sell and you'll just be mad, in which case, who fucking cares you crybaby.
Also as somebody reading the book, it's pretty good so far, so I really don't know why you'd be so mad about its supposed awfulness besides that the author is black

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. Baseball is the ultimate comfy sport. But it really is a sport that has to be played at a young age to enjoy.
>>
>>83569411
The whole argument is that MLB is like 2% African American despite being the most diverse league in terms of players from different nations and ethnicities due to the massive number of Latin American and Asian players. And they totally get top billing too, so it isn't even like MLB isn't marketing these stars. My favorite current player in Juan Lagares Who is from dr.

But because there are no "black" players they ignore players like lagares who is black. Because in the USA diversity means African American non Hispanic. Which is why there was a huge shit fit about the bucks a few years ago in the NBA only being 60% black so people were bitching that the team wasn't diverse enough in ago league with 85% black players a team that had a mix of black, Hispanic, Mediterranean, and eastern European players, as well as a white American weren't "diverse"

Yeah so did Priest. He's bound by his honor and his duty to uphold Wakandan values and tradition, no matter how he feels about them, because it's the reason Wakanda is the way it is today. In New Avengers he literally DESTROYED PLANETS because it was his duty as king to preserve Wakanda by any means necessary. An author showing what he has to endure and turn a blind eye to, as his Kingly Duty, instead of just having him swing around on buildings saving people from muggings is typically called "good writing".
Good BP writers have always depicted Wakanda as being strangled by its ancient traditions and BP being forced to uphold them, even at great personal and moral cost

It's a legit issue in the "We won't look culturally relevant" kind of way. You can't have a LeBron James of baseball if the inner cities are too busy playing Basketball and Football. Baseball currently has a stigma of being a sport that doesn't want to appeal to young people. And when this guy is your mascot for youth and fun, you got a problem.

I think fox is even making a show about a black woman pitching for the Padres who throws a screwball aka the just Fuck up my arm pitch that no one will ever let their kids or players throw.

Black people don't play baseball, it's cause the path to the majors is too long for them. If you can get to the MLB it is the best sport to play with the low injury rate, the great pension, guaranteed contacts, and life long medical benefits. But blacks think they got a shot at the NBA where most of the players are bankrupt after 3 years out of the league unless they are financial wizards like Shaq

So it's not a legit issue?

>when this guy is your mascot for youth and fun
What's wrong with the guy? Other than him being white of course.
>>
>>83569822
It's a legit issue in the wrongest of ways. It shouldn't be a legit issue, but society has dictated that these kinds of issues be legit and serious issues.

>What's wrong with the guy
He's a douche that thinks spouting twitter memes like "Make Baseball fun again" and putting stickers on your bats is what will actually make baseball "fun"

I've seen this pic but I can't remember where. The art looks really familiar.

I hope it drops like a rock once actual numbers and readers are revealed

Black guys make up like 6 or 7% of the US population and are the only minority group not growing because they have so many abortions and low immigration numbers.

There are also tons of young Latin players like Jose Fernandez of the marlins that they showcase or white young players who like fun like the Mets 5 some of pitchers.

Literally the biggest thing this season has been a 43 Year old Hispanic pitcher hitting his first home run and how a Japanese guy in his 40s will top 3000 hits.

The east Asian market and Latin American markets are much more important than inner city blacks
>>
>>83569796
I don't think reader demand is there but LCSs will inflate their orders to get the variants. Just kind of a foregone conclusion when there's so many:

CIVIL WAR II 1 BLANK COVER VARIANT COVER ALSO AVAILABLE (MAR160714)
CONNECTING VARIANT COVER B BY Kim JUng Gi (MAR160712)
TEAM CAP HIP-HOP VARIANT COVER BY TERRY DODSON (MAR160713)
VARIANT COVER BY DAVID MARQUEZ (MAR160711)
VARIANT COVER BY STEVE MCNIVEN (MAR160709)
SKETCH VARIANT COVER BY STEVE MCNIVEN (MAR160710)
VARIANT COVER BY MICHAEL CHO (MAR160708)
TEAM IRON MAN HIP-HOP VARIANT COVER BY RAFAEL ALBUQUERQUE (MAR160706)
CHARACTER VARIANT BY PHIL NOTO (MAR160707)
Hot Wheels VARIANT COVER BY MANUEL GARCIA (MAR160705)
BATTLE VARIANT COVER BY CHRIS SPROUSE (MAR160704)
PARTY VARIANT BY YASMINE PUTRI (MAR160719)

Batman has a few retailer exclusives but I think the main variant is a free to order one rather than an incentive cover.
>>

It's from Grayson, by Mikel Janin, either #10 or #11 I wanna say.
>>
>>83569822

>>
>>83569796
CW2 has more variants for every issue

Batman Rebirth had just 1 non incentive variant and I can't remember how many #1 had
>>
>>83569083
Everything dies out eventually. They just need to find another to revitalize sales next time since they can't really do a reboot+unboot again like with new 52+Rebirth.
>>
>>83569883
Holy shit, it feels like people have been talking about these dumb hip hop variants for like a year. Are those still coming out?
>>
>>83569083
I hope it lasts at least as long as New 52 did
I think I can handle a relaunch every 5 years as opposed to every year or two
>>
>>83570038
Yes. Two of them are for second printings.
>>
>>83569849
It really isn't an issue unless you work for a new paper or espn.

Facto of the matter is not having the black market doesn't matter in the slightest and those "super athletes" aren't really needed for baseball. Some of the best MLB players are fat fucks. And with the whole concussion shit going on with the NFL baseball is going to be picking up a lot of that talent.

>>
>all this /mlb/

>>83570106
Baseball won't die without them. But even outside of the fanbase issue (of course media and even the MLB itself wants everyone invested and paying to watch) you want to scout as much talent as possible to make your teams best too. More people interested and playing helps to accomplish that so if you have one market lower than the others it probably should get rectified in the long run just so you're not missing out on guys who might be able to play.
>>
>>83570253
But you already have basically the entire Caribbean, East asia, and all the white people. MLB is going to pick up more from the NFL troubles than NBA can physically handle. Bigger problem is I think Montana has no high school baseball, or one of those fly over states
>>
>>83567952
Stfu ungrateful moron
>>
>>83570413
Yeah I don't mean that it's a high priority issue but it is a general concern that they'll be thinking about and trying to fix because there are benefits in doing so. They're big enough to focus on multiple things and allocate resources appropriately. I mean they made $9.5billion last year so there's no rush on tweaking things like marketing right away.

>>83570541
One day he might realize that Comixology doesn't cache this data to pull up historically. I think ICV2 does yearly revenue reports but doesn't keep track of single issue standings like this.
>>
>>83567815
Green Arrow has like no brand power usually. To give an idea, his New 52 launch debuted at 50-something thousand. That it's selling well now is probably a CW Arrow-induced miracle, but either way the fact it's in the top ten at all is good news for the book.
>>
>>83570707
I think Rebirth just has a lot of hype and brought back some lapsed readers with its promises. Percy tweeted that the physical GA Rebirth issue broke 90k.

That other guy is retarded, but I am mad that this guy, famous outside of comics, coming to comics is getting so much attention from the start, while Valentine (and Mieville, but I can't recall if he was a big deal at the time) was loads better.
>>
>>83573954
It's cause he is a nigger with ties to the liberal media
>>
>>83574020
I think it's more about Marvel's hype machine. Isn't Valentine lesbian? She did make Selina bi.
>>
>>83569365
>It's literally more profitable to sell comics digitally
No it isn't. Comixology and Apple take a huge cut of all digital sales, whereas LCSs and Diamond take a significantly smaller cut. As a result, it's more profitable to sell physically than digitally, even when you take into account the production costs.
>>
>>83573954
>>83574128
The high Diamond figure was mostly the fact that Marvel forced people to order Black Panther to get Star Wars variants

>>
>>83574128
I don't think she's ever talked about her sexuality, but I could be wrong. Either way, it is sad that people like her and Mieville quietly churned out really good comics that didn't sell very well while Marvel bangs the drums and throws a party every time it so much as dips its toes into hiring anyone who isn't a WASP and gets rewarded with it for sales. But I don't think they care too much, they know they write good stories. If they wanted to sellout and write bestsellers at the expense of quality, they probably could pretty easily.
>>
FUCK OFF WITH THIS BATMAN

If he didn't exist my favourite characters would be more popular
>>
>>83575202
Look at the latest comparables. New 52 Batman #1 was only 188k while Secret Wars #1 was 527k.
>>
>>83575427
I hope for your sake this is a bait and you aren't clinically retarded.
>>
>>83575497
Not him but how is it retarded? I'm expecting similar numbers for Batman Rebirth and Civil War II. We know retailers are disappointed as hell in how Civil War II is selling, but since we only ever get numbers based on how much of each book retailers pre-ordered, I fully expect Civil War II to be the top seller in physical sales thanks to ten gorillion incentive variants and other goofy Marvel tactics that inflate sales numbers in the short term. Probably by #3 or #4 we'll see the numbers level off by a lot, though.
>>
>>83575575
>Not him but how is it retarded?

He's comparing an event that was the culmination of a 3 and a half year run on the Avengers by Hickman to just the Nu52 Batman launch.
>>
>>83575632
"Just the New 52 launch" is a pretty hilarious understatement. And I don't think most of the buyers of Secret Wars cared that it was the culmination of an Avengers run, more that it was the launch pad for a reboot and a big ol event comic.
>>
That Hellboy finale barely making top 100.
>>
>>83575202
We don't know what kind of crazy incentives Marvel has for retailers to order Civil War II. It's like how one retailer said they had to order a lot of Black Panther #1s to qualify for a Star Wars variant.

I wonder how Secret Wars #1 got 527K. I'm betting it was a multiple variant qualification thing, wasn't it?
>>
>>83575497
>>83575632
I wasn't baiting. The point is that the last Batman launch didn't break 200k while the last Marvel event broke 500k so even if Rebirth has more hype than the new 52 it's highly unlikely that Batman wins the month over Civil War II especially when you consider the amount of variants.
>>
>>83576172
Eh, probably. that stuff is with so many issues you probably wouldn't believe, but I know my LCS ordered way more for a specific variant of Rebirth than he did Civil War, it was at a customers request.
>>
>Digital Comics will change the industry and open it up to new genres and styles!
>Still basically just DC and Marvel
>Still basically just Batman

That comic was right: Alternative comics are an alternative to making money.

Hold on, I just found out there was also a Collectors Corps variant. Did they include those numbers in the Diamond lists? Then again the box was released in August (so orders would've had to be done on the box in June)
