I like some shonen tropes, but they have been done very poorly and predictable on almost every manga (the only series that i've seen pull them correctly are HxH and JoJo).
What I don't like about superheroes is that there is no experimentation with the powers, while on *generic shonen* is the polar opposite and the main characters have extremely specific powers that make fights look awesome.
