This is stuff I had come in the mail this week. Wrecked Hearts is fun if not corny and juvenile. It's your basic notice me senpai shojo plots with teenage whining.

Finished off A Silent Voice and felt satisfied with the ending. I saw a lot of people complaining about it so I was a bit worried but I was fine with it

Megg and Mogg is still unread
>>
>>83481525
You own Congress of the Animals as well to go along with Fran?
>>
>got wrecked hearts already
Nigga I'm so jelly, I've been waiting on that forever. Yeah I'm not expecting much from it outside sci-fi shojo, but I'm interested in seeing how it expands on the world of Wrecked Ships.

Recently watched Jodorowsky's Dune then made a thread on Franco-Belgian comics and a lot of his stuff was recommended so I ended up getting:
Before the Incal, The Incal, Final Incal.
Technopriests, Megalix and Metabarons.

I am really impressed because boy were they cheap and the art is great. The hardcover productions are fantastic. They feel like Marvel omnibus editions (especially the Metabarons) but at a fraction of the price.

Also I've been on an X-Men kick recently and bought a few bits. Wanted to finish off readin Uncanny X-Force.

The Frank Mille omnibus for Daredevil is back in print so I picked up that and the companion (not pictured).

I'm at the point where digital seems like an alright alternative for certain comics. I have very limited space for books right now but I would still like to support dudes I like.

Some comics are also maybe sold out in print so creators throw up the digital versions to grab. Though I wouldn't buy digital big two stuff.

plus 1st and 2nd book of Jenseits des Steins (can't remember my login data and email password since I'm at work). Wanted to buy 4th as well and the comic shop I got the Adam Strange Showcase from listed it as in stock but in the end they didn't have it (apparently no one has).
First 5 haven't arrived yet. actually they haven't even been sent yet but they were the cheapest new ones I could get.

ordering all Legion Vol 5 next month, then I got all Trades and HCs of the Legion except the Archive versions and Legion Lost.

Going to order one Sandman book (maybe World's End cause I love that shit) and the Divinity trade.

That's my next project after that. there's a comic store in the next town that had like 80 of them last time I checked and they weren't expensive either.
problem is last time I checked was like 3 or 4 years ago...
hope they still have them. Also Legionnaires, The Legion, the floppies of LoSH v2 between book 5 of the showcase and Great Darkness Saga, The Wanderers and the v3 floppies after The More Things Change are probably going to be a pain to get.
Should maybe just buy R.E.B.E.L.S. trades instead do they exist?

Also as nice as Omnibus editions and stuff look, I am always afraid that the binding is shit and that they just break apart during first reading. >>
>>83509958
Omnibus editions have the problem that they are simply too heavy. when I buy collection books I check that I can get them as single books instead of an omnibus for that exact reason.
Some of them are so heavy you have to fear they break apart from their own weight due to shoddy binding/glueing.

No, and that adtitude is why people dislike that series. Hawkeye was brash and more than a little bit arrogant, but at the same time he's got enough experience to deserve it. He's one of the longest serving Avengers, to the point of leading his own West Coast division. Hell, he was almost solely responsible for the original Thunderbolts team's redemption.

S-sorry...
I originally sorted it towards Final Crisis and had all my Batman stuff between the Justice League HCs with the Batman RIP HC right beside the Final Crisis HC so it made sense then, but I will resort it anyway when the new stuff arrives.

the 4th world omnis were ordered from amazon.com because in early summer 2010 they did a real bad fuckup, for some reason they offered a few omnis like captain america, ultimates etc for piss cheap, $10 a piece or something and someone told /co/, so there was a regular rush on those. incidentally when something is bought really quick, amazon has an algorythm running that puts the price even lower to get rid of them so they were at under 10$ for a short time if I remember correctly).
So I ordered them for the low price, but wasn't fast enough, amazon couldn't deliver and gave me a few vouchers so I ordered the 4th world omnis instead. haven't looked back. Also I waited 2 1/2 months on them and had to pick them up at the customs office a few towns away and had to pay additional taxes for it, was still waaaay cheaper than if I had ordered them from German amazon.

I don't like the binding that much though, they're sturdy enough and everything, but every time I open them there is this distinct crack sound as if some part of the glue or whatever it is just ripped apart.
but the paper itself is really great, it's not this high-gloss paper they usually use nowadays but the old (newspaper?) paper they used back then.

I'm not that anon, but you can tell that Stokoe didn't give a shit about it. It doesn't have the typical Stokoe hyper-detail, backgrounds are lazy and sometimes non-existent. It's fun enough, and as a die-hard fan of his I'm glad I own it, but it's definitely a "completionist's only" purchase.

After reading about the production woes the book went through, it makes sense, and I honestly feel bad for Mark Andrew Smith. This book sunk what little career he had.
>>
>>83513561
I'm going to buy one just in case. It's only 10 bucks on IST, so at the worst I'll keep it forever.

I passed on the omnis because of this trades but I do think the omnis would look great on that shelf. Nonetheless I don't need to upgrade any of them and they've held up through multiple readings. I just need to get the Annihilators trades to round it out.

Not a bad manga collection so far, I recommend getting the rest of Trigun and Tezuka's Astro Boy ominbus, I think three is coming out soon. I need to get two before that.

If you want more avant garde comics I recommend looking into Black Hole or anything related to Charles Burns.

If you like Gotham central check out some of Brubaker's other crime series , Criminal, The Fade Out, Fatale, Sleeper, etc.

He's really good at writing a satisfying layered and sometimes pulpy crime story. His Daredevil run isn't bad either, i much prefer it to the Bendis run which gets more praise in general.
>>
>>83520074

Well I meant other than the whole, Miller's run is the best, bla bla bla... I personally like some of Millers run the most but it comes down to personal taste and Brubaker is a close second, hell some people love the Bendis run, and while it was him around his best time for writing its just not my thing.

my thing?

yes its just not for me.
>>
>>83522204
Yeah, I didn't feel like thinking that hard. Try Immortal Iron Fist. Same creative team as Hawkeye (for the first 17 issues), plus Brubaker who is consistently excellent. Not to mention JMS' follow up run isn't bad either (at least for me). I'm currently reading Lemire's GA right now and it definitely has a similar feel to IIF, so it should be up your alley.

Also, if you want to branch out of capeshit, try some Hellboy or BPRD. Really excellent stuff.
