Now that there's a real update I can post a thing I've been thinking that I never got to say in the big threads.
I really like how this actually feels really different from the usual transformation plot lines/transformation fetish plot lines that I normally see and dodge a bunch of the common cliches.
The main character wasn't a crazy strawman speciest getting changed to be forced to learn a lessen, he was already above averagely chill by in setting standards with non-humans. He's not completely isolated by the change with no one believing or knowing it happened, literally everyone he is close to as well as every person in a position of power relevant to his life is completely in on what bullshit has just happened here. He's got an emotional support network.
It's like the nicest gentlest version I've seen of the "unwillingly transformed into something several steps down the social ladder" story.Whens he gonna test out his brand new vagina.

Glad you appreciate that aspect of the story! Thanks! Honestly I'd been considering switching from the soft-shading style I'd been using for a while. It can look nice, and give nice depth to clothing, but kinda clashed with the more comic-ish character designs, and a whole lot of people in the last thread agreed.
Plus, I'm trying to steer my style towards drawing a lot of panels quickly rather than realistically, and this style shaves off over half the time I was spending on shading before.

I think allowing your TF tastes to inform the world building and plot, but keeping the more fetishistic stuff to the commissioned side comics works pretty well. This comic doesn't weird me out like a lot of TF stuff does because it doesn't feel like the main comic is really pandering, it actually cares about the consequences and so on, as well as drawing from other sources to drive the plot and define the world.
It's actually pretty interesting and, apart from other things, I find myself caring about the little ratbirds as a species and wanting to see them moving up in the world.

Well, before they suddenly rose to sapience they were just Lesser Yinglets (the newer, intelligent breed are Greater Yinglets) so the Lessers are probably victim to whatever lives near their habits and preys on small furry things, while the Greaters are probably more on the "Whatever's desperate enough to attack tool-users who have a knack for spears and combat teamwork" side of things, unless they get caught alone, which I think was something mentioned nearer the start of the story.
The comic notes also mentioned that their spit is antibacterial, so they're probably disease resistant to some degree.

As mentioned before, Kass has a support group and a general sense of direction in her life despite what has happened. She has access to her friends, a lofty new position with leverage of being a truly unique specimen and her world is still the same as when she left it.
She really only has to get used to a few things and she is already in a better position then she was before. She can become a hero to yinglets, a diplomat, a pioneer ect.
She really has a lot going for her, all things considered.

Bird bones are actually sort of strong for their weight though, cause they've got a honeycomb structure on the inside.

They're still fairly easy to break. Birds you can easily break in half, the difficulty is in the muscles.

Well! There are a bunch of comics that I occasionally remember I as following once, marathon through the new stuff, then go back to waiting, but I read Gunnerkrigg Court and Guilded Age regularly. And now possibly some others, since I'm getting so many solid recommendations here.
I haven't watched much in recent years though; things have been pretty crazy and it's tough to just sit in place for a half hour or so, even though I know there's some quality stuff on TV right now. But I gotta say, I've heard a lot of good things about the show you just used a pic from; if I were to start watching something, there's a good chance SU would be it.

Not as long as it used to, but I'm still working towards speeding up my drawing process without sacrificing too much detail. Most of that just involves getting myself to stop spending so much time worrying over every little detail during the sketch phase.
It varies from page to base, depending on how many panels are involved; this latest 6-panel page took me about 13 hours.

Fantasy furry(ish) comics I have bookmarked that haven't already been mentioned
Latchkey Kingdom - Heavily Zelda inspired, light hearted plots, some puns. Can be a little underwhelming
Dreamkeepers - fantasy universe, quirky child heroes, big important plot stuff, "unique" character designs. Some people hate it, I'd say its okay but not amazing. Set up like a graphic novel.
The Dragon Tutor - I've only read half of it and it hasn't progressed that far. Hella furry character designs, could turn out pretty interesting or could just be shit.
Parisa - Apparently rebooted since I last read it. Seems to be updating more often at least.
Scurry - Fully animal characters, amazing art, twice weekly updates. The story is just getting out of the setup phase but seems promising.
Bonus non-fantasy comics
The Tale of Jasper Gold - Western about a rabbit. Pretty new, gets talked about in Endtown threads sometimes.
Freefall - Sci-fi, long running comic about a goofy space squid in an environment suit that ends up with a genetically engineered wolf engineer. Kinda slow, but consistent as fuck with likable characters and real plot development.
