Favourite oh shit moments? Also what's /co/ opinion on all new x men just started it, is it received well.
>>83379365
No. No it is not.
And currently, the last few pages of the most recent issue (21) of Deadly Class. Caught me by complete surprise.
>>83379365

Why? I know u sound like a newfag, but I'm kind of enjoying it, I really like Cyke young and old, what should I read instead?
Also I meant the 2013 all new X-men
>>83379874
It's a bad run.
It is pointless and goes nowhere.
Battle of the Atom will soon make that very clear. I still think that event is probably the most poorly thought out, most incomprehensible mess ever written for Marvel comics.
And in the grand scheme of things Bendis' Uncanny that ran alongside ANXM failed to properly follow up on any of the narrative threads from earlier to instead focus on people talking and shock value premises that ultimately do nothing but make the storyline more gimmicky and confusing.
Also the concept of "bringing back the original 5" pretty much destroys any relevancy any newer character might've had left.
It's just pretty bad over all, even if it's not inherently unreadable.
>>83379365
The early part was. But like with most things, crossovers and events ruined the later part.

I disagree with this picture. There's a difference between putting up a strong face for your enemies and putting up a strong face with your woman.

The first six issues or so was great, and if it had been a limited series which ended somewhere around there with the young X-Men returning to their time, I think it would have been well-regarded and well-remembered as an odd interlude with some great art and competent writing.
But man oh MAN does it go off the rails quickly once the initial premise plays out.
If you keep reading as far as "Battle of the Atom," I want you to entertain this thought experiment:
Let's say you're dating someone who you have great chemistry and a long acquaintance with. Then one day a teenaged, time-traveling version of the person you're dating arrives from the past. Every moment that they're there, they threaten to un-write the person you're sleeping with from existence by doing something to irrevocably fuck up your lover's history. Your lover says they want this past version of themselves back in the past where they belong, where they can no longer threaten their present-self's existence. The bratty teenager is like "Fuck you, old-timer, I go where I want!"
Do you take your lover's side? Or that of the bratty, entitled teenager?
Once you've answered that question, compare and contrast your answer to how Kitty Pryde acts towards Iceman in that event, and tell me if you've ever seen more shockingly-bizarre behaviour from a main protagonist in an X-Men book.

Actually the young Cyclops solo book was pretty good.
Weakened in the second half and ended on a shitty crossover, though.

Rucka actually left after the first six issues.

And then it came down to Lex Luthor choosing between becoming a benevolent deity who successfully brought true absolute peace to all the people of the universe and giving up godhood to try and beat superman.
Guess which one he chose.

it's always so funny when lex finds out who superman is

>>83381219
I am the person who told you stop right now
Gillen's Uncanny X-Men is the last great X-Men run, it is from 2012 iirc. Back then there were only 198 mutants after being depowered by the Scarlet Witch, and the Cyclops team was in an island called Utopia, with most of the mutants. The others were in the Jean Grey school with Wolverine but his book wasnt very good.
Read Gillens Uncanny X-Men, the Avengers vs X-men event (not great, but necessary for understanding x-men history), and the consequences of Avengers vs X-Men, also by Gillen.
You can skip the whole Bendis run because nothing important happened apart from briging the old x-men from the past and making Iceman gay.
I mean, if you have bought it, read it, you already have it. I am telling you to stop only if you have pirated it.
Read the Secret wars event to understand what happened in the Marvel World.
And if you want to read some current X-Men, read Bunn's Uncanny X-Men, the one with Magneto and Psylocke, which feels pretty much like a continuation of Remender X-Force, it is pretty good in spite of the Greg Land art.
Bunn also wrote a pretty good Magneto run that ended with Secret wars.
The Bendis run is generally considered to be the worst X-Men run, or the second worst X-Men run after Chuck Austen's.
>>83381535
Shitty and irrational execution does wonders
>>83381535
Yeah but comic Lex has years and years of story with superman with a shitload of interpretations and stuff.
The movie had 15min at most, if even that.

I really love this one so much. Mostly because Tony was being a real prick back then.

Now Wanda can be like "fuck you, I was in a movie that made more than the movie you were in."
>>83380839
>>83380872

>>83381554
>Guy at my comic shop has a full run of X-Men

Thanks Anon I pirated it so no harm done. However I brought the first Age of Apocalypse secret war issue. I brought one the comics with Charles son , pretty sure it was all new x men aswell and I brought a issue from the hellfire saga. I found them in a forbidden planet comic bin, are they good?

IIRC the Secret Wars X-Men tie ins were good or decent, except for the Days of the future past one.
Inferno was written by the guy who is writing New X-Men right now, and it was a pretty good book for Hopeless, with great art.
E is for Extinction (I think it was called that) was also quite good, and based on Morrisons X-Men. Extinction Agenda was good too, they all had cameos of characters that havent been seen in the main books in a long time.
The best Secret Wars tie in, even better than the main event, was Siege imo. The main character was Abigail Brand, who used to be an X-Men character, and it also had Cyclops clones, and Magik.
The Age of Apocalypse event of the 90s is great, it starts with the son of charles going to the past, and chaging history by accidentally killing his father when trying to kill Magneto.
The Hellfire Saga wasnt very liked, because Aaron turned the Hellfire Club into teenager brats, when they were millionaire adults in their 30s and 40s. Aaron liked the idea of X-Men as mutant Hogwarts.
>>83382279
Casually.
Because that's what he was to Frank, just another bloodstain waiting to happen. He didn't give him the satisfaction of anything special.

>>83379365
I can't speak for /co/, but my opinion is Bendis stopped caring after the space trial arc. Everything that followed was crossovers with other bendis comics that did little to advance the book's themes or develop the characters.
