Why does this make a difference?! The existence of magic in a setting doesn't make every single fantastic claim true. Morbi ultimately did make it true but that's neither here nor there.

I'm imagining a sort of dandelion-like effect with that, where a handful of babies rise from the splatter. The fuck are you talking about? The myth part is Poppy's version. That Didelphi wanted to grant mortals free will. I didn't skip it, you idiot. The FACT that fruit babies exist isn't a fantastic claim -in this setting- because it's FUCKING TRUE and it has been since the very begining. You and ONLY YOU claim that it isn't and haven't given any reason as to why.
>>
>>83334814
The fuck does that have to do with anything? You're pissed off about the fruit trees. They didn't come out of nowhere, they were on the first fucking page. They exist, and they were set up. Why the fuck does this bug you?
>>
>>83334883
You're not being mean, WE are being mean. You're being retarded.
>>
>>83334835
Even fantasy needs grounding you goddamn tard, it doesn't matter if it's like our world or not. Otherwise you might as well be writing Ax Cop

>>83334853
The hell are you even talking about? Just because they have stories doesn't make them real. And what does animals existing in our mythology have to do with goddamn anything?
>>
>>83334485
>It devalues the setting and turns it into fucking Wonderland.
It doesn't because the comic actually explains how shit works, rather than just going "its magic, i don't have to explain shit".

>>83334759
>Setting need to be grounded
Yes, every setting needs to have its rules, and morbi created rules and limitations for it, and added explanations (exposition or written) for the rest of the stuff.

The only "fucking wonderland" here is your damn mind, that can't seem to get a goddamn grip.

>>83334883
I don't have any way to prove that they are samefags, really. Its still suspicious though.

Both sort of sound/look like the way "fruit babies are fucking retarded" guy writes though.
>>
>>83334975
Animals are featured in our myths because animals exist.

Child-bearing fruit trees are featured in their myths because child-bearing fruit trees exist.

This is not a difficult concept to understand.
>>
>>83334975
Poppy has its grounding. The first thing the story tells us is "we were descended from magical trees created by the gods." Since Poppy takes place in a totally alien fantasy setting, either the literal or metaphorical explanations are equally plausible.
I don't care if you can suspend your disbelief for whatever reason, but that's entirely on you, because the story goes out of its way to establish internally consistent rules about its setting and magic.
>>
>>83334890
>>83334894
It was true LATER in canon. Not during the first goddamn page. Morbi has the ultimate say in what goes in and what doesn't, he put that in and while I don't agree with it it's still canon

>>83334918

See >>83333573
Christ, it's like talking to a wall
>>
>>83334759
Your logic is all fucked up. The basic premise of "zero indication" doesn't hold up to the actual pages of the comic. You just made an incorrect assumption based on whatever preconceived notions you've developed from outside sources. Your notions were wrong in this case. That doesn't devalue anything.
>>
>>83334975
>Even fantasy needs grounding you goddamn tard
Name something that isn't grounded within the setting itself. Everything has been logically explained within the limitations of the world presented.
>>
>>83334975
Just because they have stories doesn't make them false.

It's entirely your fault for assuming that.
>>
>>83334975
And Poppy is pretty grounded, specially on how it handles the Life Trees. Why aren't you complaining about Lucky Stars that do actually run on "it's magic I ain't gotta explain shit"?
>>
>>83335055
>It was true LATER in canon
It was always fucking true. You're just arbitrarily re-writing shit in your own head. Why aren't you pissed that Morbi decided, completely randomly and based on nothing, that Possums die at 30 because they have no magic? By your twisted fucking logic that was never something Morbi intended from the start, it never fucking existed until he randomly inserted it at the end of Chapter 2.

Explain why that doesn't bother you.

It was always canon that life trees/fruits were a literal part of the setting's history.
A couple elements in the intro are embellished in some ways, but none of it was ever metaphorical, at any point.
I'm honestly not sure what your problem is with my magical fruit babies, but I also don't really care.
>>
>>83335304
>NO IT WASN'T. Give one example outside of the origin myth that confirms it being true to canon
That's ridiculous. Basically you're saying "THAT'S NOT TRUE BECAUSE I DIDN'T INTERPRET IT AS TRUE". You interpreted wrong. Maybe if Poppy said something like "By the way, this is a bunch of bullshit" you'd have a leg to stand on. But the story was corroborated by the world which was corroborated by the story. It's all consistent.

As a small concession, it actually could have been interpreted either way because we didn't know shit, but when we DID know shit, it shouldn't be a mindblowing leap in logic that it's true. Because the evidence of it being true was there all along, it just wasn't explicitly stated until it was plot-relevant.

its not like they just pop out of fruits cause two people go "I WISH I HAD A BABY"
they have to donate their blood and have it put in the fruit, they have to wait for the fruit to ripen (it was a big point in this chapter that Vix circumvented that) a number of complications can happen like air pockets deputizing the baby, the fruit falling and smashing on the ground, ect ect.

My favorite character to draw in the comic is Petunia, because she's both simple to draw and almost constantly prone to overreacting with her expressions.
My favorite character I wasn't able to fit into the final version of the comic was Hellter Skelletor, a rock and roll skeleton dragon who acted as the grim reaper when the series was less focused. Pretty much everyone else I had planned made it in intact.
I have the entire comic's plot figured out at this point, but I write the final scripts and layouts themselves during the breaks between chapters.

Hey Morbi, can you clear us on this cellphone issue?

Do they pay tariffs to a magical service provider? Do they all learn the spell on their own? Wouldnt that be like coding your own computer? How do they make everyone's magical format match up to a standard?

Can they do video calls? Can they do holograms or even remote tactile feed? Can messages be recorded, stored, kept on queue or ignored? Can multiple people participate in a call, tap it or intercept it? Are magic transferences of information protected in some way? Are they instant or experience lag?

Cont.

Does the magic phone carry the speech as inmaterial information or does it literally bring the sound wave from a point to another? If that's so, how would they avoid the sudden appearance of a vibration on the air instantly from becoming garbled, of a different, insanely high frequency or causing a shockwave? How does atmospheric pressure or acceleration affect teleportation? Does teleporting from a low place to a high one create a vortex? Does warping from a high orbit spot to a low orbit one create weird gravitational effects? Does warping from a moving train to a still place makes the subject carry the inertia over? Where does the energy go? We saw that light can go through portals, does this mean light can be made to change speeds?

What room specifically?
>>
>>83337622
Bed room. I live in an apartment. I keep my computer chair against the wall, and I've scraped the paint off the wall behind me.
>>
>>83337703

OK what price range are you looking for?
>>
>>83337820
Between 0$ and No Dollars?

I'm a poor fuck. I'm lead to believe that paint is expensive, and if I'm going to "patch" a section, I may as well paint my whole fucking room, because it's impossible to match old dried paint. I'm just assuming I need to paint my whole room. I haven't determined my dimensions yet. Honestly, I couldn't even guess. I need a proper tape measure to get the height and widths.

>I've seen a couple of little things guessed here and there

I know I was the first person to figure out Poppy's 7 candles were to count the last years of her life. I thought it was because her bad heart would give out, but still I figured it out.
>>
>>83334196
Also, many are probably familiar with her reputation as a person known in the "disappearance" of two notorious mobsters.

I mean, if the head of the criminal underworld considers you a threat and has a non-interference policy, she's a known danger.
>>
>>83336524
hey morbo, if you're still here: is 30 years a hard age limit for an opossum? Are there any who have lived longer, or is that, like, the longest any opossum has lived?
>>
>>83337994

Well sadly I can't give you paint for free, however I do have very cheap options.

You could get a bucket of Glidden paint for under 20 bucks, but you'd have to tint it, which means you won't be able to return it if you leave the store with it. I usually recommend Glidden for cheap jobs anyway.

Otherwise a gallon of our "oops" paint, if you don't mind premade colors, is literally 9 bucks, sans tax, but is also nonrefundable upon purchase. Our major paints all come with paint and primer, and are water based latex.

And to stay on topic, imagine taking care of friedrich when he's very sick, but he's upset because he feels he has a duty to protect flora.

>Or do you think DBZ and Jojo have the deepest set of rules imaginable for any universe?
Pretty sure that would be Tenchi Muyo.

Which Poppy is actually a lot like in many regards, its just that instead of being part of the royal family of space Japan you are born in a specific time to get superpowers, and the racism element is brought up constantly rather than three times (the Juraian racism towards humanity and resentment all humans are Jurai royalty).
>>
>>83337994

Oh, and a gallon covers approx. 400 Sq feet.
>>
>>83337491
Are you sure we have the authority to give him that power?

It may be too much, and we have no guarantee he won't give that ability to others without us knowing it!

Let's just send him a fruit basket when his soul is crushed beneath trolling and hope the vitamin q will revive him.
>>
>>83338322
>>83338298
Huh. That's more than reasonable. I was afraid that even looking at white paint, I'd be expecting to pay $200+ for a whole room.
>>
>>83336957
Woah, Morbi/Dr. Seuss hybrid tats!
>>
>>83336807
Why not just a being who is some kind of remnant of fragments of souls that gather until a giant monster forms?

Like best from any mythology monster here for example.
>>
>>83336688
Well, in real life there's people with strangely legitimate credentials otherwise who think octopi might be either aliens or simply influenced by alien DNA somehow since they are so radically different right down to the genetic level from just about everything else we know of that has existed on Earth.

Clearly, they are tentacle alien druids from Sky Henge.
>>
>>83338436
This doesn't sound unreasonable.
>>
>>83338277
i bet its a heart thing, that and a lack of applicable medicines and healing means that theres a rather strict limit on how long they live.
however with pharmaceuticals like kit develops i bet that that limit is beginning to stretch, poppy herself admits that shes lived as long as she has thanks to Kits pills, no doubt her strenuous life style and body bulking caused her already short time limit to shrink
calling that wither Poppy or Lily or both get non magical artificial hearts

>>83334293
Which means you're also not sharp

I want to see her solo in a room wrapped up in yarn after naked-fighting it while hopped up on catnip and asking for help from Anon just as the horny phase kicks in

May his basketball abilities always be above average

How do i get that many boobs? Holy shit, I'm jealous as fuck senpai.
>>
>>83335537
>>83335276
Amen, i love those two together. They're perfect. As friends lovers, whatever you want, i just think the dynamic between this is really fun and cute.

I also wouldn't mind an uncensored shot of mary from the update. Or if a drawfriend were feeling charitable, the two of them drunkenly making love.

By the way, has it ever been mentioned what specific species halia is? And where did the idea that she was transgender come from?
>>
>>83335709
I'm ridiculously jealous. This is bullshit.

I was even thinking of writing another thing about those two as well. Morbi is enabling my autism every day.

>>83340221
Please anon, it's the right thing to do. Look into your heart.
>>
>>83340291
My heart typically tells me to self-indulge with shitty /vp/ fanfiction. I'm not sure how another Mary Hallia would go, whether it'd just be plain shipping or if I'd like to go for a route where everyone's less drunk and not going cloaca excavating on the floor. I like the fluff, you know?
